Lisa Leslie was recently invited to be a guest on The Daily Show to express her opinions on a range of subjects. Minutes into the interview, the talk show host Leslie Jones initiated an interesting conversation. Apparently, she asked the Hall of Famer if they both played basketball at their best, who does she think would have won? Leslie immediately threw a counter at Jones stating that it was not a good question and whether she want to do it over. Then Lisa replied, “Me at my best is the best.”?Following this, the statement received a loud cheer along with thunderous applause.

The iconic No.9, Lisa Leslie has accomplished wonders during her time playing for the L.A Sparks. Her overwhelming performances compelled the Sparks to permanently retire the No.9. Lisa further added, “I was the kind of player who can match whatever energy you come. If you wanna fight, we can fight. If you want to play nice, we can play nice. It’s amazing we got a chance to be so fierce and to play a sport that we love. For me, it was really about the next generation. Having that opportunity and that platform to be a role model for the next generation, that is what I kept thinking about.”

Lisa’s legendary years

The four-time Olympic gold medal winner began playing professional basketball after she was drafted by L.A Sparks in 1997. Leslie lifted the WNBA title with the Sparks back-to-back in 2001 and 2002. In addition to this, she was also the Finals MVP both times. Moreover, the 2001 Sportswoman of the Year is an eight-time WNBA All-Star.

Furthermore, the three-time WNBA MVP is the first WNBA player to cross the 10,000 mark in points, rebounds and assists (PRA). Also, Lisa’s immaculate performances has earned her spot in WNBA Top 20@20.
