Chelsea Gray’s league salary

Chelsea Gray has plied her trade for three teams in the WNBA – the Connecticut Sun, the Los Angeles Sparks, and the Las Vegas Aces. While she was drafted as the 11th overall pick during the 2014 WNBA draft by the Suns, Gray couldn?t contribute much as she had to sit out due to a right knee injury.

Gray then participated in the 2015 season for the Connecticut Suns. Following which, she was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks. Gray stayed with the team till 2020, bagging the coveted 2016 Championship title. Gray found her next home in the Las Vegas Aces with whom she clinched back-to-back 2 championships.

As per her hoop stats, Gray earned $206,267 during the 2022 season while pocketing $196,267 in the 2023 season with a two-year contract. In addition to the WNBA, Gray has also featured in overseas leagues. She played for Fenerbah?e of the Turkish league, propelling them to the Turkish Women’s Basketball Cup champion title in 2022.

Chelsea Gray’s family

As per NBC Olympics, Chelsea Grays?s parents were a huge influence on her basketball career. Both her parents were sportspersons during their college years. While her mother Vickey Gray used to play college basketball, her father James Gray tried his hand at football during his years at the Clemson University. According to her own admission, her parents made her try a lot of sports during her childhood and also encouraged her by visiting her basketball matches.

Her two older brothers competed with her in their backyard. As per basketball Mentality, Gray idolized the NBA legend Michael Jordan, wearing his number 23 on her jersey. She also played at numerous courts in California including the Venice Beach. This helped her hone her craft and develop into a dexterous point guard.

Chelsea Gray’s basketball career

Gray continue the family tradition as she gamed for the Duke?s Blue Devil. During her time with the university, Chelsea set multiple records and won numerous awards including the ACC Player of the Year in 2013. In addition to this, Gray finished as Duke?s all-time leader in assist-to-turnover ratio and also helped the USA at the national level to bag a gold medal during the FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

Chelsea Gray has proved to be an eminent asset for the Los Vegas Aces as she won the Finals MVP during the 2022 season, propelling the Aces to clinch their first silverware. As per basketball reference, Gray averaged 13.7 points per game with a noteworthy 3.2 rebounds per match and 6.1 assists per contest.

Whereas during the 2023 regular season, Gray?s performance stood out especially against the Dallas Wings in which she pocketed a whopping 27 points with 5 rebounds and 8 assists. She also contributed much during the Championship Finals basketing 45 points with 15 rebounds and 22 assists. She, however, in an unfortunate turn of events had to sit out of the fourth game against the New York Liberty after suffering a foot injury.
