Amid the high-flying dunks and 3-point shootouts at the NBA All-Star weekend, it is easy to lose track of the little things in life. Despite that, Kevin Hart’s appearance was both a surprise and a highlight. The “Ride Along” star emceed the show but struggled as some of the WNBA’s biggest names turned his physical features into the butt of many jokes. But if there’s one thing that Hart knows, it’s always getting the last laugh.
During the star-studded event, Hart found himself at the end of playful banter from WNBA’s Rickea Jackson and DiJonai Carrington. In clips posted by the NBA, the WNBA stars can be seen crouching down to click selfies with the actor. Jackson even joked about their height difference.
Literally looking down at Hart, Jackson quipped, “I’ve gotta bend down low.” while recording their interaction. The actor looked visibly flustered but kept his cool during the interaction. DiJonai took to social media too. The Dallas Wings’ Guard reacted to a video of her and Hart with the caption: “jus got back to the hotel to find this video 😂😂😂😭😭 I love him sm 💀💀💀 thee short king 😩😂”

Jackson reacted to the same video on her Instagram story. At a loss for words, the Sparks’ forward captioned it “😭😭😭😭” But as always, Hart had a comeback for the ages.
No tall people allowed: Hart’s hilarious comeback
The comedian-turned-actor took to Instagram to dish out revenge. Having had his stature mocked by these talented ladies, Hart flipped the script to turn their larger-than-average heights into a joke, too. The 45-year-old posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, “Me & My WNBA Sisters…. This is my payback 😂😂😂😂😂 Left to right @rickea @courtneywilliams10 @dijonai_ @aaliyahedwards_24 😂😂😂😂 No tall people will survive in a picture with me. Rules are Rules damn it!!!! If you are not my height your head will never make it in a photo with me!!!!!

The picture Hart chose featured (sort of) him surrounded on either side by, of course, Jackson and Carrington, but also Aaliyah Edwards and Courtney Williams. The messiah of the “short king movement,” Hart was full of jokes as celebrities reacted to his out-of-the-box response. Carrington seemed to have been in hysterics as she commented on the post, “When will you grown uppppp mannn😂😂😂😂😂 bye!!💀“.
The All-Star weekend actively showcased Hart and Carrington’s budding banter. But Hart’s height-related troubles didn’t stop there. If getting roasted by WNBA players wasn’t enough, Shaquille O’Neal added his own signature punchline. Hart posted a photo of him laughing with Shaq on the same carousel on Instagram. The 7-foot-1 15-time NBA All-Star completely dwarfed the 5-foot-5 Hart. In a segment, the two shared, Shaq joked, “Why’d you get your outfit from Kids R Us?” While Shaq’s OGs managed to grab the W at the newly revamped All-Star tournament, Hart had choice words for him in his Instagram caption.

“@shaq & @ernie.johnson had me dying on and off camera…. @shaq told me I had on a training Bra 😂😂😂😂😂”
We’re glad to see that Hart took all the jokes made at his expense in good fun, clapping back in classic Kevin Hart fashion, too. At the end of the day, the NBA All-Star Weekend isn’t just about the games. It’s all about the moments in between. The unexpected jabs, playful comebacks, and the running jokes.

Hart’s legendary clapback proves one thing. Height may be measured in inches, but comedic timing? That’s priceless. Whether it’s WNBA stars towering over him or Shaq treating him like a lost child in the grocery store, Hart continues to find ways to own the joke.
Who’s next? The Monstars? Yao Ming? Either way, Hart will be ready.
