The Indiana Fever may have lost tonight. However, the overall mood of the game in the T-Mobile Arena was jolly. We saw many glimpses where the veteran Olympians of the Las Vegas Aces cheerfully engaged with the freshly minted All-Star Caitlin Clark. But one interaction that almost broke a sweat on the fans’ foreheads was when Kelsey Plum tried to almost body-slam the Fever rookie.
The 2x reigning WNBA champions continued their winning streak as they got the better of the young Indiana. In the final 11 seconds of the game, NaLyssa Smith dribbled the ball to shut the game clock. But in the center, everyone saw Kelsey Plum and Caitlin Clark get into a conversation. However, it ended with the No. 22 guard pretending to tackle the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game MVP. They hugged it out as the teams left for their benches.

Apart from Kelsey Plum, many other instances of the Aces welcoming Caitlin Clark were also wholesome. Jackie Young pretended to tie her shoelaces to give the rookie a breather as the latter fell to the floor. A’ja Wilson too gave the current assists leader a hug as the greatness in one found the same in another.
While everything was well and good for the players, Caitlin Clark’s fans certainly saw a bump in their heartbeats. But it was a good one.
Fans capture Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plums ‘playful’ moment
The past two months have been rough for the rookie. But she has smiled through it all. Now, the table is turning slowly as more and more ‘enemies’ of the player are sharing smiles with her. After this delightful moment between the former and current NCAA WBB DI’s all-time leading scorers, the fans cheered on the veteran Aces player to show some love to the rookie. Especially, after she faced negative narratives surrounding her and the WNBA players. A fan took to the video’s comment section expressing what the back-to-back Honda Trophy awardee must have been thinking in those final seconds and also appreciated Plum’s actions there.
“CC still scared y’all are just gonna body slam her 😭thank you KP for showing our girl some love.”
Since the game clock was still on, Caitlin Clark was preparing to go against Plum. However, as the latter almost jumped at her, everyone saw fear in Clark’s eyes. One fan comically brought that up suggesting that the 6-ft guard is not used to the WNBA stars showing her love. In the last game, it was Diana Taurasi. Now, it is Kelsey Plum and the rest of the Aces.
“Caitlin was scared… still not used to the vets being nice”
One Caitlin Clark fan also expressed their love for this incident. Certainly, no such footage of the Las Vegas stars meeting the rookie in their previous encounter surfaced. In fact, we have witnessed her being unnecessarily thrown to the floor. Nevertheless, it is surely refreshing to see that she is now truly a part of the WNBA.
“ok im loving all these playful moments caitlin is having with other players.”
It was obvious that the two hoopers were simply playing around with each other. The Fever had already lost the game and making a shot in the remaining 11 seconds would not have mattered. Hence, when Caitlin Clark tried to tackle Plum as a joke, the Aces guard, who gave the rookie a lesson with 34 points, also got included in the play. A fan mentioned just that.
“I think CC was acting like she was going to make a play, joking around and then KP was going to grab her 🤣🤣”
A WNBA follower mentioned that the 2x NPOY is a little weird. However, they were also quick to point out that she always brings out her true self, whether on the floor or out of it. Surely, Clark is all business between the lines. But as the clock ran out, she quickly switched to her extrovert avatar to greet the 2x WNBA champion.
“Lol Caitlin a lil weird but she raw tho 🤷🏾♂️”
