According to multiple league sources, a three-team trade that would send Jewell Loyd to the Aces, Kelsey Plum to the Sparks, and assets to the Storm is the first domino that needs to fall in free agency.” As per The Chicago Sun-Times, the 30-year-old will move to Los Angeles Sparks, so the California native will finally have a ‘home’. For that to happen, the league’s top earner Loyd will have to move to Las Vegas alongside A’ja Wilson.

Currently, as per Spotrac, Arike Ogunbowale, Kahleah Copper, and Jewell Loyd, are the top players racking in the highest salaries worth $241,984. Apart from the money issues, getting the trade over the finish line, which at the current moment appears to hinge upon packaging the right pieces for Seattle.

The Aces are yet to announce their GM but have cored Kelsey Plum. Meaning that she is guaranteed, a one-year supermax contract worth $249,244. The star guard averaged 17.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game last season, which is a slight dip from the previous season. But it seems that hasn’t put the suitors off the 3x WNBA All-Star.

If not home then Kelsey Plum has the option of familiar faces

As stated previously, the Washinton Huskies alum is in demand not just from one franchise. Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Callie Fin reported about Seattle being interested in trading for the 30-year-old. Which is close to Plum’s college stomping grounds at Washington. But ESPN WNBA reporter Kevin Pelton believes Kelsey Plum could be heading to the ‘new team’.

“The Valkyries trade a package including the No. 5 pick to land Plum as the face of the franchise—reuniting her with former Aces assistant coach Nakase, now Golden State’s head coach.” Not only reuniting with Natalie Nakase but former rookie Kate Martin as well. And a good chance to be the number-scoring option and being the face of the franchise.

In less than a week’s time, everything will be official if the 30-year-old moves on from her current setup to find a home. After staying on the same team for more than 7 years, reports indicate a change of scenery will happen. Now the only question if true, where is the destination? An area where she grew up or a place where she established herself during her collegiate days.
