The WNBA rookie Kate Martin’s fans were surprised when she dropped a mirror selfie with Claire Gransee on her Instagram story. While some fans speculated it was casually two friends hanging out together, others thought that something was cooking between Martin and Gransee and the latter was her girlfriend. The 24-year-old added more intrigue to her relationship status when she commented on a TikTok video made of Gransee’s images on Sunday. And now just a few hours after her unexpected admission, Martin has again commented on Gransee’s snap with a singular word which when seen together with her previous social media activities might give her fans more clarity about her dating life.

One of Gransee’s close friends had posted a picture with her on the social media networking site Instagram on Sunday. The caption of the picture read “this is my friend claire! she likes cheese.” Within a few minutes, it went viral on the platform and caught Martin’s attention, who took the opportunity to publically display her affection for Gransee by commenting “Pretty!!” Now, if you ignore their past interactions, this can just mean that Martin admires Grancsee’s beauty. However, the tables turn considering Martin had recently made an admission in four words.

Previously when a TikTok video featuring Gransee was posted, Martin took notice of it and the Las Vegas rookie didn’t shy away from expressing her feelings. Martin was quick to remark “I am a lucky girl.” This was seen as a major compliment and a public admission of their relationship by their fans. If this message wasn’t enough, Gransee too responded with a plea equally heartfelt.

Gransee asked Martin to “save this(video) to your camera roll.” This further amplified the murmurs that the duo were in love with each other and were dating. And with the latest compliment on Gransee’s picture, as per fans Martin sure seems to be smitten by Cupid. On the career front much like her love life, Martin is having sweet beginnings.

Martin plied her trade with Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes from 2019-2024. Though Martin stuck with the Hawkeyes for five years, she was always in the shadows of Clark and her teammates. However, the last NCAA season gave her a chance to show her exceptional skills and she sure capitalized on it averaging 13.1 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. Hence, Martin came just in time.

Her performances were noticed by the Las Vegas Aces and she was a second-round pick in the WNBA 2024 draft. Since then Martin has been supporting the star-studded team something that she does extremely well. One of her best performances this season came against the Los Angeles Sparks in June when she hit 13 points against them.

As for her personal life, Martin much like the draft seemingly looks to have hit a jackpot. Hopefully, Gransee and Martin will soon come forward to reveal more about their ties. Till then, all fans can wish for is to come across more content on social media that shows how happy Martin is with her rumored girlfriend and close friend, Claire Gransee.
