180 seconds on the court, but Kate Martin's message to Claire Gransee stole the spotlight. Thoughts?

The Las Vegas Aces snatched a dramatic 77-75 victory over the Chicago Sky, thanks to a last-second heroics from A’ja Wilson. While Wilson stole the show, the Aces rookie, Kate Martin, didn’t see much action on the court. But it seems that did little to Martin’s romantic side.

Rumors about Kate Martin dating social media influencer Claire Gransee have been circulating for a while, and Martin’s latest social media activity is likely to stir the pot even more. Just hours after the Aces’ thrilling win over the Sky, Gransee took to Instagram to post a few snaps of a likely roundup of the month, including one with Martin. “i’ll be here!” she captioned. And then obviously, as soon as Kate Martin’s eyes caught that, she couldn’t resist chiming in, leaving a playful comment: “You’re so artsy fartsy.”

Well, this hasn’t been the first time the player has dropped hints and showed love towards Gransee. Earlier this month, Martin herself posted a series of pictures on her Instagram which captioned ‘Break treated me good, love my people’. The carousel also included a mirror selfie of the rumored couple and Gransee chose to acknowledge the player’s validation as she commented, “so much cuteness!! best dump!!”

This just adds up to many instances that have fueled the relationship rumors of the two. Dating or not, each definitely has a soft corner for the other. And that wouldn’t be the only other Iowa connection, apart from Caitlin Clark, that visibly continues for Martin.

Kate Martin’s strong Iowa support in the game against Sky

The Las Vegas Aces’ second-round pick in this year’s WNBA draft, rookie Kate Martin, is still finding her footing in her debut season. In the game against Sky, the guard played her 4th consecutive game this month for 3 minutes and finished with 0 points, rebounds, and assists on the board. This brings her average to 2.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1 assists this season.
But while she has yet to make a significant impact on the court, her ties to her college days at Iowa remain strong. Those lasting connections were on full display when Iowa head coach Jan Jensen was spotted at Wintrust Arena.
Jensen, who served as an assistant coach for the Iowa during Martin’s college run, was there showing her support for rookie and fellow Iowa alum Megan Gustafson. In fact, the crazier stuff that put Kate Martin into spotlight more was when Gustafson was spotted wearing a T-shirt with ‘America needs Kate Martin’ written on it. Though Martin has averaged just 12.6 minutes per game in her rookie WNBA season, she was a regular starter during her college days at Iowa.
Despite the unimpressing numbers, the guard’s caliber isn’t lost on many. She herself doesn’t measure her skills solely on numbers but the execution of her skills without much mistakes. And coach Becky Hammon attests she fares rather well in the aspect. A slow start definitely, but Martin is only just starting.
