Despite performing well in rebounding, Angel Reese has been on the receiving end of some harsh words. During the game between the Las Vegas Aces and the Chicago Sky on Sunday, Tiffany Hayes was injured unexpectedly. Hayes, who had come in for Chelsea Gray, was giving her best for the Aces when Reese in order to get her hands on the ball mistakenly pushed Michaela Onyenwere who then rolled into Hayes, injuring her. And fans didn’t take it lightly as they slammed Reese for it.
“Angel Reese pushed her own teammate in the back, which resulted in her teammate fallin directly into Tiffany Hayes’ knee. Just goofy,” one fan commented. The user was referring to the fact that Reese was pushing her teammate for a rebounding due to which Onyenwere fell onto Hayes’s knees, who was then seen limping and walking slowly to the locker room. And a lot of spectators felt that the Hayes was done for the day.

Notably. Reese is popular for her double-doubles. In her both last two games, Reese scored an exceptional 20 rebounds during the games against the Phoenix Mercury and the Connecticut Sun on Monday and Friday. Hence, fans noticing Reese’s actions to get a rebound tagged her as selfish and blamed her for shoving into her teammate who eventually fell on Hayes.
While Reese has 11 points and 22 rebounds as of now, Hayes scored 6 points with 5 rebounds. Her shining moment came when Hayes made a 20 foot 2 pointer helping the Aces lessen the trail in the first quarter. She also assisted Alysha Clark and Kelsey Plum for their two-pointers during the second quarter. Hence, the impact she was having in the game was surely missed not only by her teammates but also by her fans. And therefore, they took a dig at Reese.
Fans take a jibe at Angel Reese
“Angel Reese pushed her own teammate while grabbing a rebound and her teammate fell into Tiffany Hayes and injured her. Absolutely unacceptable. #skytown,” another user commented. The fan was critical of the fact that Reese had been scoring high in her rebounds and was subtly pointing out that to take her tally up Reese had pushed her teammate. Meanwhile, Reese had 22 rebounds in the game.

“Angel Reese pushed Michaela who then rolled into Tiffany Hayes’ knee. Rough game. She’s not coming back today. #LVAvsCHI,” another user stated that it didn’t look like Hayes would be back in the game. As mentioned before, she had 6 points with 5 rebounds, which was necessary for the Aces during crucial moments. Nonetheless, the Aces won the game by a 77-75 tally.
“I like Angel Reese but she really has to stop pushing players in the back under the basket. She’s done it twice in 2 mins hurting Tiffany Hayes the 2nd time. #Wnba #Aces #Sky,” another fan stated that this was not the first time that Reese was hurting Hayes. Instead, previously too, the 22-year-old had pushed players to get her hands on the ball.
“Am I trippin or did I just see Angel Reese shove her own teammate into Tiffany Hayes on the Aces?” Another fan could not believe that Reese was going to this limit to take a rebound. As per the fan, pushing one’s teammate was unacceptable.
