Did Jonquel Jones' sideline spill with Brondello show her dedication or just a funny game moment?

She has to be persistent for 40 minutes,” Sandy Brondello had a clear message for Jonquel Jones ahead of Game 4 of the semi-finals against the LV Aces. While Brondello must have casually checked Jones, the latter seems to have taken the advice to her heart. So much so that she tumbled over Brondello after trying to save the ball from going out of bounds, leaving the Liberty fans laughing.

“wait y’all!!! jonquel jones and sandy brondello struggling on the sidelines is sending me!!! 😅😂🤣,” one fan commented. The play occurred when the Aces star A’ja Wilson along with Kelsey Plum were looking to get the ball in the second quarter from Jones. The latter in order to avoid a foul didn’t let the ball go out of bounds and instead pushed the ball into the court while falling outside. As the Aces regained possession, a visibly excited Jones stood up only to bump into her head coach and take her down falling to the ground with her. And as from the comment one can see that the Liberty fans had a laugh over it.

Up until 7:30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Jones couldn’t do much as she scored just 8 points with 6 rebounds, converting three of the eight free throws she attempted. However, what was commendable was that she had +8 at that time as the Liberty led by a 59-53 margin. Moreover, Jones couldn’t ply her trade for the whole 40 minutes as she was rotated for Kennedy Burke twice up until the fourth quarter. Therefore, she couldn’t stand tall on Brondello’s expectations of giving it all for continuous 40 minutes. And with the mess she unknowingly made of the Brondello, fans had a light-hearted moment in the otherwise tense game.

Fans have a moment of relief as Jonquel Jones commits an error

“This whole sequence is SO Jonquel Jones,” a fan tweeted. The fan was probably referring to the fact that Jones is known to commit such errors on the court. Previously during the regular season, she had hip-checked Angel Reese who immediately fell to the ground. And after she collided with her own head coach, it was nothing but hilarious.

“Jonquel Jones knocking her coach out. Jackie Young traveling. A’ja Wilson I guess just don’t foul. Tiffany Hayes won’t stop falling everywhere. This game is chaos,|” another fan commented. The user was pointing to the fact that the whole game had a comedy of errors in patches. She referred to Jackie Young who took more steps than is allowed in the game without dribbling. Then Wilson had a foul when she was tackling Leonie Fiebich and to top that Hayes was falling on the ground during crucial moments. All this was enough to convince the social media user that it was a hilarious game.

“Don’t know about the initial contact but Brondello DEFINITELY fouled Becky Hammon at the end there,” another user noted. The admirer was pointing to the fact that it was the Aces head coach Becky Hammon who had to come to pick up Brondello and perhaps using her support to get up looked like an unintentional foul by Brondello who was probably inside the court at the time.

“Why is Jonquel so funny man,” another follower commented. The fan was most probably referring to the moment when Jones had collided with Betnijah Laney-Hamilton during one of the games against the Aces, and even Brndello had acknowledged the moment in the postgame presser.

“Tall girl shit lol!,” another user commented. Jones notably is 6 feet 6 inches and hence according to the user, she had problems getting up quickly which made her knock Brondello.
