Las Vegas – a sports destination?

Yes, as per A’ja’s conversation with CBS Sports, Las Vegas is indeed being seen in a new light of being a sports destination. She says, “It’s a little bit of everything for everybody. I think we have a great balance of entertainment, gambling, and sports. We are growing.”

“We are firing on all cylinders, and I think it’s just a great place for people just to go and have fun. … You can’t half-ass things in Vegas, you gotta go big. I love that about Vegas because we go big, not only for the visitors of the town but also for our players, our teams, and entertainers as well,” she adds.

Notably, Las Vegas has transformed into a thriving sports town that is also defying historic taboos and challenges altogether now. The city has come a long way with its population growing above 2 million in 2014. From a sports-centric perspective, the city is the home of major league sports like the NHL and NFL.

Not only this, but the Supreme Court’s 2018 decision allowed states to legalize sports gambling. At that moment, the city had a carpet diem moment and it embraced sports betting with open arms, eradicating its taboo status. Also, the city’s sports venues like T-Mobile Arena and Allegiant Stadium have played a pivotal role as an integral part of Vegas’ vibrant sports scene.
