The WNBA legends Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi are ready to rock the Xmas celebrations. They will make a comeback on the television with their work “The Bird & Taurasi Show” on Monday. The television program will air alongside the conventional broadcast of the New York Knicks’ Christmas Day game against the Milwaukee Bucks. This will definitely take NBA fans over the moon for a number of reasons.

With this show, the duo will make their NBA debut alongside a list of favorite celebrities. The alternate show screenings have attracted umpteen viewers since their inception with the Warner Bros hosting one during the major baseball league for the Latino Fans.

Breanna Stewart to make her NBA debut

Similar to other sports’ alternate cast shows, the Monday one will be quite exciting as it will feature another WNBA star Breanna Stewart. And for the fans’ exhilaration, she won’t be alone in this. The 29-year-old will be accompanied by other guests including the ‘Ted Lasso’ famed Jason Sudeikis, and the Indiana Pacers’ point guard Tyrese Haliburton

Fans can catch their favorite personalities on ESPN2 and ESPN+ while the Knicks battle it out against the Bucks. It will be produced in agreement with the ‘Omaha Productions’ which has previously supported ‘Manning-cast’ that premiers during the ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football.’ For the record, Taurasi and Bird have been famous for appearing on television in the program over six times during the NCAA’s women’s Final Four tournament during the 2022 and 2023 season. 

Known as ‘alterna-casts’, these program formats have gained a lot of prominence in the last few years and big media houses including the ESPN, Warner Bros, and Amazon want to cash in on them. As per Variety, the Paramount Global will air an alternate show for the Super Bowl on the kids cartoon channel Nickelodeon with young viewers and families being their target audiences. The program will be entertaining and less formal as opposed to regular sporting TV shows.

Meanwhile, Stewart is suddenly ringing a lot of bells during the off-season.

The WNBA has officially announced the season’s start on May 14, and Stewart would be looking to make the most of it this season. She was called on the popular web series ‘Hot Ones’ to release the Liberty’s schedule. For the unversed, the Liberty will kick off their 2024 journey with a season opener against the Washington Mystics.

Stewart’s appearances on various shows just add to the fact that she has gained massive popularity over the years. Her fanbase was also visible when she won the WNBA MVP for the second time in 2023.
