Owned by 3-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade, the 2023 Chicago Sky season has been a rollercoaster ride. It was the 18th season of the franchise in the WNBA. The Sky’s offseason saw the withdrawals of many important players like Candace Parker, Courtney Vandersloot, etc. However, the most impactful departure was of Sky’s now-former Head Coach James Wade.

Stepping down mid-season in July 2023, James took the job of assistant coach of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors. Since then, the Sky has been in search of a new coach, which has now come to an end.
