In sports, the intent matters. The defending champions showed excellent on-court skills and defeated the Sky by a decent margin of 95-83. The game had a host of moments of exceptional performance by the Aces. One such gameplay that caught the eyes of everyone was when the Aces star Tifanny Hayes gave a pass to her teammate Jackie Young. And Young didn’t disappoint as she scored a layup. It showed that at the end of the day, it’s all about intent.
Both Young and Hayes were running from coast to coast with Hayes having the ball. On seeing several defenders from the opposite team, Hayes gave a pass to Young. The 26-year-old was screened by Kamilla Cardoso while Chennedy Carter was guarding inside the paint. But that did not deter Young. She went inside the paint by pushing Cardoso and potted a layup. The exceptional display from Young caught everyone’s eyes.
Ok as someone who is in the gym daily, I hate this question, but WTF does Jackie bench? And overhead press?! It's gotta be easily 165 and probably 135 😤😭 bc she just moved KAMILLA out the way #wnba

Young was exemplary in her display and scored 22 points with three rebounds and an equal number of assists. However, apart from her astounding performance, this shot made a home in the minds of her fans and they did not hold back their surprise.
Fans are completely in awe of Jackie Young
“Ok as someone who is in the gym daily, I hate this question, but WTF does Jackie bench? And overhead press?! It’s gotta be easily 165 and probably 135 😤😭 bc she just moved KAMILLA out the way,” one user remarked. The fan was pointing to the fact that while Cardoso weighed 215 lbs and is listed at 6 feet 7 inches, Young is only 165 lbs and is 6 feet tall. Therefore, it was a surprising feat when Young moved Cardoso out of her way.
“I can tell you this. The question is what does she deadlift and squat? Her base is truly strong,” another fan too contemplated what Young might be squatting and deadlifting. These two exercises affect the legs and the lower part of the body and how Young moved Cardoso out of the way is truly remarkable.
“That was flawless technique, too. Notice how she got Kamilla moving, then got her body under that hip and smoothly nudged her forward so it looked natural? High level cookery right there,” another fan commented. The user was pointing out the fact that it wasn’t only force but also a lot of technique. Young first tried to dodge Cardoso and got her moving backward and then she nudged the Sky rookie with her hips. As per the user, it was the mastery of the technique that got Cardoso out of the way.
“Kamilla momentum was already going left, great bump and finish by Jackie though,” another netizen remarked. The netizen made obvious the fact that Cardoso was already on the verge of taking back steps. Therefore, it was the use of momentum that helped Young trump Cardoso.
“This is more so Jackie knowing when to attack a defender at their weakest. Kamilla is also a rookie and not familiar with most players tendencies yet,” another follower enunciated. The user overtly brought forth the fact that Cardoso was drafted in this season by Chicago whereas Young was the first overall pick in 2019. The two have a difference of a lot of experience between them.
