The Nike Sabrina 1s have been a storm in the athletics world since their first release. Last year, the New York Liberty star could proudly say that her signature cleats are worn by women and men athletes alike. And now, a step more, Sabrina Ionescu can also say that her own alma mater’s football team made a debut in her special release.

The sneakerheads have known how loved Nike Sabrina 1s are. However, when the college you made your career hits the topmost ranks acknowledges the fact, it is out worldly for sure. In the 2023 WNBA season, Ionescu wore her then-unreleased Sabrina 1 Oregon Ducks shoes, showcasing her work to the spectators. Then, she released them as her special cleats in Spring this year. But who knew the University of Oregon would have their football team wearing the same ones as they begin their NCAA season soon?

Just a few hours ago, Sabrina Ionescu shared a tweet from the official account of Oregon Football. There, the team walked in the evergreen and bright yellow-tinted Sabrina 1s Oregon Ducks shoes. Noticing the feat, the freshly minted Olympic gold medalist wrote, “Sabrina’s on feet. It’s gonna be a good day.”

The Ducks will be taking on the Idaho Vandals at home in the Autzen Stadium, Eugene. Certainly, all packed for their very first encounter of the season. As the Ducks kick off, here’s a glimpse at Ionescu’s line.

Ever since she inked the deal with Nike, the Liberty superstar has been on her feet, literally, to build one of the most successful unisex shoes to date. Although she admits that she was never personally present to help with the design, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, she did architect something loved by everyone. With the perfect combination of style, comfort, and performance, Ionescu has certainly done quite well with her signature line.

Following the success of her Sabrina 1s, she brought out the special edition to represent the college where she built her career. Apart from the color palette of the Eugene-based college, the midsole has ‘Quack’ embroidered to add more to the U of O’s representation. A majority of the shoe is in the evergreen color with the bright yellow beginning from the mid-foot. The evergreen-colored tongue has a contrasting yellow S written to represent Sabrina Ionescu’s first name. The jet-black swoosh accompanied by an “i” on the heel set the tone for the entire piece. Indeed, a crisp one.

The Sabrina 1s Oregon Ducks were released on March 7, 2024, after the reigning WNBA finalist wore them in the season showdowns. Truly, Sabrina Ionescu is leading the charge and transitioning her name just from the hardwood to the day-to-day life with Nike at the forefront. She also introduced the Sabrina 2s which will hopefully also make just as loud of a noise as the preceding renditions.
