It’s been over 4 months since Caitlin Clark got drafted into the WNBA as one of the brightest prospects in years. She came in with a big question hanging above her head – Can Caitlin Clark continue her success in the WNBA? However, her first few weeks didn’t turn out how everyone would have hoped for. When the season tipped off, the team faced back-to-back defeats and concluded the first month of the season with a 1-8 record.
Clark continued putting out double-digit scores, registering 4 20+ point games. However, the tiredness and lethargy were visible on the court as she had continuously been grinding since her senior season took off at Iowa. Hence, she couldn’t have that smooth transition to the pro league until now, at least on a mental level.
In the post-game presser after the win over the Atlanta Dream, Clark made a stern confession about how different things are in the WNBA as compared to college basketball. “I think I understand the game a little bit better. Like it is a lot different than college and I think also for myself being able to like get to know my teammates and understand how they play and them to understand how I play. Like that’s a big adjustment coming in here,” she told the reporter.

She further talked about the team’s improved chemistry that has started to reflect in their game. “I think once we’ve been able to figure that out, you can really start to see us play better with one another and play off one another a little bit better. Our chemistry has improved, so I think all of that combined is just learning from game to game, continue to improve in certain areas, little areas.” Clark also pointed out the areas where she has been able to make improvements and revealed her excitement at improving her game further.
“This team is young, has a lot of young talent and I feel like we’re just starting to put it together a little bit. Hopefully, that continues to come along,” she concluded her statement. Not only this, Clark herself is willingly making improvements in several areas that she understands need a nudge to be better. Let’s see how.

During the All-Star break as well, although she had to get that much-needed rest, she hit it well in the gym and it is visible how she has transitioned from being a tall, gangly baller to a pro with impressive gains.
A week before the season resumed, the Indiana Fever roster was seen grinding in the gym and getting stronger, courtesy of Aliyah Boston’s TikTok videos that were uploaded to social media. Coming back after the break, the team is maintaining a 3-1 record and is aiming to make it to the playoffs.

“I love being in the gym, every single person on this team does and we all feel like we can continue to get better in a lot of ways and this team is young, has a lot of young talent and I feel like we’re just starting to put it together a little bit so, you know hopefully that continues to come along,” Clark reasoned during the press conference.
Currently, the Indiana Fever is 7th with an overall 14-16 record. But there are still 10 games left before the regular season concludes. So, there is a lot more in the Fever’s quiver to shoot from with Caitlin Clark moving forward with unprecedented records under her belt.
