No one can understand this more than the WNBA legend, Candace Parker, who is also at a stage where she is juggling between getting back to the game and hanging up her boots. The NBA legend Klay Thompson became the latest athlete to add his name to this list as he lately shared a heartfelt message with his fans, post Golden State Warriors win over the Orlando Magic.
As he conveyed his thoughts on the last chapter of his career, Parker took to her social media and shared his message with her fans as she found warmth in his message.

Recently, Thompson shared his conversation with coach Steve Kerr, who advised him to embrace his career’s final years. He said, “You want to get back to that level so badly you can kind of get in your own way. Rather than forcing it, we had a conversation about enjoying the last chapter of my career, how lucky I truly am to still be playing this game, doing it at a high level, being a better mentor for these young guys, leading by example, having my energy right every game.”

“He helped me realize if I do have negative energy, how that affects the team in a poor manner. So we had a great conversation that helped me change my whole mindset and forget about shooting splits or points per game or All-Star games and just to enjoy being in this Warrior’s uniform and appreciate what we’ve built,” he further added. After hearing these words of wisdom by Thompson, Parker couldn’t help but connect herself with his thoughts as she also finds herself on the same road as Thompson.
She took to her Instagram stories to share his thoughts with her fans as she posted this clip and captioned it with, “Respect✊.”

Notably, as Thompson weighs his options for retirement, Parker might be making a comeback in the 2024 WNBA championship.
The return of the star
Candace Parker has to undergo surgery for the foot fracture she suffered in June, which resulted in her being sidelined from the 2023 WNBA championship. After being in recovery for almost seven months, Parker has hinted at her potential return to the court.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Parker said, “If I’m healthy, I want to play.” Moreover, she also posted on her Instagram stories a video of her workout session, which she captioned, “‘23 sucked but ‘24 im COMING FOR YA😈.”
