As per Sportac, Clark will earn around $76,535 for the first year. She has a four-year contract with the Fever of $338,056. With time as her reputation grows, Clark’s salary will increase too.

During 2025, she will make $78,066, which will be followed by a whopping $85,873 in her third year. Whereas for her fourth year, Clark will make around $97,582. Though Clark is drawing a good salary, it is quite less as compared to her male counterparts in the NBA. And a lot of fans have voiced their opinion that Clark should be earning more. Meanwhile, Reese has a four-year contract with the Sky for $324,383. She will make an average of $81,096 per year. Her salary compares less to that of Clark. While Clark will make  $76,535 for the first year, Reese will draw $73,439 during her rookie season.

Reese’s salary will increase with time just like Clark’s as she will get the highest during her fourth year in 2028. Shen will make an average of $93,636 in that particular year. But is there a reason behind Reese’s lower salary?

For the record, the WNBA salaries are given as per a slab. The top four rookies earn the same. Similarly, the fifth to eighth and ninth to twelfth drafts in the WNBA make the same money. Then the 13th to 24th slab is the same, followed by the 25th to 36th. Since Clark was the number one pick and Reese got into the Sky as the seventh pick, their salaries are different. And Reese makes a little less than Clark.

Though Reese cannot surpass Clark in the first four years, there are chances if she plays well she can earn more after her contract expires. Her salary might be re-negotiated by the Sky or it is possible if she transfers to some other team where she earns more than Clark.

On the other hand, Clark too can widen the gap by performing exceptionally well and getting a lucrative contract. Fans, on the other hand, will be hoping that it is not the last time that they see the comparison between the two. Their performances will also be weighed against each other at every step and hopefully, the better player will win.
