The Liberty star Marine Johannes showed her support for her compatriot Victor Wembanyama by wearing his San Antonio Spurs jersey outside Michelob ULTRA Arena post-game 1. She did this act after she was gifted the jersey by Nike to show solidarity with Victor who would be pulling his socks to battle it out during the preseason.

For the unversed, Victor Wembanyama is a power forward who plies his trade for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. He’s a French player who is regarded as one of the greatest prospects of his generation. The Spurs selected him in their first draft during the 2023 NBA. Apart from the NBA, the 19-year-old also plays for the French national team and has led his youth teams to two silver medals, one of them at the 2021 FIBA U-19 World Cup. Marine Johannes is a French player who was signed by the New York Liberty during the 2019 season. She has been instrumental in the Liberty?s run to qualify for the Championship Finals. Not only that, she was praised by NBA legend LeBron James for her outstanding three-pointers during the Game 1 of the Finals against the Las Vegas Aces at the Michelob ULTRA Arena on October 8. LeBron was infact present during the game. Overall, as per ESPN, she averages 8 points per game with 1.6 rebounds per contest and 2.4 assists per match.
