Angel Reese, the No. 7 pick in the 2024 draft, has been a standout throughout her rookie season. While she’s in full dominance mode on the court, there’s one aspect of her life that seems to have taken a back seat—her dating life. Ever since breaking up with her millionaire ex, Reese has maintained that she’s “not looking for a man.” Still, quite a few are curious about the WNBA star’s love life. And it’s not just the fans.
Comedian Funny Marco joined Reese for a recent episode of “Unapologetically Angel.” While the two discussed various topics, the highlight was Marco hilariously suggesting potential suitors for Reese. The Chi-Town Barbie, however, didn’t seem interested from the start, cutting him off with a quick “I’m where I’m at,” when he began listing names.
Nevertheless, Marco pressed on and even brought up sitcom actor Tyler James Williams, popular for his role in “Everybody Hates Chris.” Yet again, Reese declined, further stating she wants a “nice,” “wholesome,” and “God-fearing” man. A few days later, Marco brought up Reese’s dating life again—this time with a proposal during an Instagram Live session. “It’s a guy that wants to date you; he’s in a wheelchair,” Marco shared.

Before Marco could continue, Reese interrupted with, “I’m not interested. I hope he finds a woman for him, but it won’t be me.” However, Marco persisted, asking for Reese’s preferences, offering to look for a man, the 22-year-old asserted, “I am not looking for a man Marco, I don’t want anybody.”
Reese had previously expressed her frustration over people poking into her dating life. It even led her to say she wouldn’t reveal the news even if she got into a relationship. “Now I see why people hide relationships & keep everything private. I don’t think I’ll ever openly share that part of my life with y’all again until I’m married, ’cause y’all do THE MOST!” Reese said in an X post.

While the speculation around her dating life has intensified, there’s a deeper reason behind Reese’s decision to remain single.
Angel Reese wants to focus on herself
Earlier this year, Reese was linked to Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren after being spotted wearing a Detroit jersey. The two were seen together during the WNBA’s Olympic break as well. However, Reese has consistently clarified that she isn’t interested in dating right now.

In her podcast, Reese elaborated on why she’s choosing to stay single, explaining that she’s focused on self-growth. Averaging 13 points and 13 rebounds per game, Reese believes that being in a relationship would divide her attention and she is not up for it. “Just working on myself… Everybody works on themselves, but I’m not ready to give myself to someone else right now,” she shared.
As of now, Reese is in the middle of her first offseason and is set to play in the Unrivaled League in January. With so much still to prove, her focus remains firmly on basketball. “I don’t want to give half. If I’m in a relationship, I’m going to give everything I have,” she added. This perspective stems from past experiences, including a relationship she regrets the most—though she didn’t disclose who it was with.
