During a recent interview, A?ja Wilson, the star player of the Las Vegas Aces, talked about her favorite teammate after the WNBA Finals opener.

After securing their first win in the 2023 WNBA championship Finals, A?ja Wilson, during an interview, revealed her close bond with her teammate, Jackie Young.??

She said, ?Jackie was my rookie. She’s my baby sister that I never wanted, But I love her to death and I’m going to make sure that I am pulling that confidence out of her.?

She further added, ? People raised an eyebrow at us when we drafted a number one and everyone was like, wait a minute, what? And I was like, you (Jackie) need to prove every single night that you are the number one draft pick every single night.?

?So at the end of the day, I just want her to feel as comfortable but also uncomfortable as possible because that?s how we win,? Wilson stated. Jackie Young also stated that Wilson is like a big sister to her who always keeps motivating her.

Young, in response to Wilson?s baby sister’s remarks, said, ?Yeah, see, that?s how it is. Yeah, she gives me a hard time.? The love and support between these two basketball stars run deep, demonstrating a genuine connection between them that fuels their success on and off the basketball court.?

Notably, Young led the Aces to their first victory in the 2023 championship finals.

A rising star in the WNBA

In the 2019 WNBA draft, Jackie Young was drafted as the first overall pick by the Las Vegas Aces. Before playing for the Aces, Young used to represent the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, during which she led her team to two NCAA finals and winning one in 2018.

In the opener of the 2023 WNBA championship finals, between the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty that took place on 8th October, Young was the most impressive player. She recorded an impressive total of 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, which led the Aces to their first victory of the championship Finals with a final score of 99-82.
