The Las Vegas Aces, Seattle Storm, and Phoenix Mercury. What do these illustrious franchises have in common? Well, for one, all of them have got their hands on the WNBA trophy. But, apart from that, a dedicated practice facility appears to form a common link among them. And joining this list are the 2021 WNBA champs, the Chicago Sky. However, investing a whopping $38 million in such a project doesn’t seem to impress the Unrivaled League’s latest WNBA member Angel Reese too much.
Iconic names such as Candace Parker, Nneka Ogwumike, and Kahleah Copper have earlier revealed that one of the major reasons behind their commitment is the presence of a private practice facility. Anyhow, it isn’t as much of an alluring factor for rookie Angel Reese. And she did get brutally honest about it recently. “I don’t care if we practice down the street”, Reese said on Chicago’s latest media availability. “I wanna be where I’m loved and where I’m appreciated. As long as I have two goals. And, a ball to put in the hoop.”
Angel Reese adds that she was locked in with Chicago Sky, regardless of the facilities: “I don’t care if we practice down the street. I wanna be where I’m loved and where I’m appreciated. … As long as I have two goals … and a ball to put in the hoop.” pic.twitter.com/khITEpbTYy

The franchise has been on the receiving end of some harsh criticisms by some eminent WNBA names for not providing such amenities to its athletes. Their former shooting guard Kahleah Copper was one of them. In fact, one of the key reasons why she requested a trade was because of the presence of a public, suburban practice facility. “I want to see the organization keep up with the Joneses,” Copper told the Chicago Sun-Times in one of her offseason interviews.
Meanwhile, the 6 ft 3 forward has hinted at some major upcoming developments following her recent milestone.
