The Las Vegas Aces are still soaking in their consecutive WNBA championship victory moment. Subsequently, their star performer A’ja Wilson continues to cherish the glory that she and her team achieved. The WNBA Finals MVP is a tough competitor when she steps onto the basketball court. However, she has a soft side which she showcases occasionally.

The final whistle of the Game 4 brought out a flurry of emotions from the five-time WNBA All-Star.

A’ja Wilson talks about her post-championship victory moment

Popular talk show host Jennifer Hudson invited the Aces captain A’ja Wilson to her show recently. During the show, she asked A’ja about the first thing she did after she won the championships. A’ja replied, “I cried to my parents. I’m a huge family girl. They sacrificed so much for me. To have them on the court with me after we won I cried like a baby.”

Soon after the Aces were handed the trophy, A’ja was seen celebrating with her family. She invited her parents over to the court and clicked pictures with them. The family-first sentiment of A’ja has caught the eyes of many. WNBA legend Cynthia Cooper applauded the Aces star by posting a story on Instagram. The story features A’ja along with her parents posing with the trophy.

The moment A’ja won the second WNBA title was more special than her first. Describing the feeling, she said, “It was just a wonderful moment. Like I said the first one was cool. The first one was great. But the second one got my soul. Everything that we’ve been through. Fighting that adversity, and being able to share that moment, it was something truly special.”

Apparently, this sweet victory of the Aces wasn’t easy.

Aces’ adverse run to the WNBA title

The road to victory for the defending champions wasn’t a smooth one. Throughout the season they have to overcome a lot of challenges. Earlier in July, their star forward Candace Parker fractured her foot. As a result, she underwent surgery and was forced to sit out for the entire season.

In addition to this, the Aces’ head coach Becky Hammon had to face suspension and penalties following the transfer of Dearica Hamby to the Los Angeles Sparks. The star forward accused the Aces of unethical treatment during her pregnancy. Following this, Becky was suspended for 2 games.
