With a thrilling 64-61 victory over the Dallas Wings, Las Vegas booked their trip to the WNBA Finals. Dallas seemed to have the victory in the bag, but a stunning 11-0 rally by Las Vegas in the waning seconds pushed them to the title game.

The Wings managed to outrebound the Aces 41-39 and resulted in a season-high 20 turnovers from Las Vegas despite their star player, A’ja Wilson, having trouble finding her offensive rhythm and only providing 13 points while shooting at a 40 percent clip. Dallas, however, struggled in the crucial last 4 minutes and 59 seconds of the game, scoring zero points.

In the absence of a dominant Wilson, Las Vegas guards Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young performed excellently. They together scored 37 points and helped out with 13 of the team’s 16 assists. And following the Aces’ victory, A’ja Wilson celebrated by roasting herself.

A’ja Wilson shared a series of pictures of her WNBA journey this season, captioning it, “Semifinals ??.” She shared pictures of her along with Lil Wayne, her coach Becky Hammon and her teammates, Alysha Clark and Kiah Stokes, and even alongside ‘rival’ Arike Ogunbowale. However, she didn’t forget to roast herself in the last slide with a meme.

Game 3 was indeed frustrating for Wilson with the Wings refusing to back down. Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 18 points. However, her efficiency was poor as she only made 8 of 24 field goal attempts. Both teams had offensive issues, but Ogunbowale’s determination kept the Wings ahead for the majority of the game.

Teaira McCowan and Natasha Howard put out impressive efforts, scoring double digits and collecting a game-high 15 rebounds, respectively. Satou Sabally, who won the WNBA’s Most Improved Player award, however, had a rather disappointing night, scoring just five points on a 2-for-15 shooting effort. She didn’t play up to her regular season record of averaging 18.6 points and 8.1 rebounds. But despite the tight competition, A’ja Wilson and team put an end to the Wings’ championship hopes.

Meanwhile, following the victory, Wilson stole the night with her hilarious camera antics.

A’ja Wilson has the WNBA in splits

A’ja Wilson came up to the post-game interview platform with poise after a spirited victory on the basketball court. Discussing the frustrating game, she said, “It’s just the way the
game goes. One game you can have 30 the next game you can have 10. And that’s just the way it goes and I’m…” And then Wilson got distracted by the camera up her face.

She couldn’t help but remark, “Damn this camera is close!” bringing her hand to cover her face. She then let out a hearty chuckle and continued, “But at the end of the day I just try to be productive for my team. And tonight,?it was the rebound.”
