The W is getting charter flights, the first since three decades of the league’s inception, and more than anyone, the veterans are happy. So much so, that the Fever’s Erica Wheeler took it upon herself to introduce and hype up everyone on the plane. But that’s not where her off-the-court duty ended. Seemingly, she has many tricks down her sleeves, one of which she pulled on Caitlin Clark, Lexie Hull, and Katie Lou Samuelson.

With the new era of Indiana beginning tomorrow against the Connecticut Sun, Wheeler is keeping a few things the same. That is her humor. Taking it to her Instagram story, she first gave her followers a peek into the charter and the opening night roster. In the video, she goes through the charter chanting “Hey Gang! We on a charter! Gang members!”

But the energy level in the veteran does not end and she continues with a humorous take. Pretending to take a photo with Caitlin Clark, Hull, and Lou, Wheeler began recording a video to see how long the team could keep up. A little later, laughing, she said, “It is a video!” To this, of course, everyone rolled their eyes.

Seems like the Fever is all ready to take down their opponents one at a time with so much great chemistry going on both on and off the court. The three vets to Clark, who does not believe she has been efficient so far, have been a great support for the rookie. Moreover, in the two preseason games, they have exhibited that they can be great partners to the NCAA’s stellar passer. As the team lands in Connecticut to play their first game of the 2024 WNAB season, here are the players that we can see from the two teams.

The game due for tomorrow at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Conn, is already sold out. Over 8000 fans will be cheering on both teams as the 2024 WNBA season kicks off with a thrilling matchup between the Sun and the Fever. Indiana has recently revealed its roster for the opening game which includes both of their rookies– Caitlin Clark and Celeste Taylor.

Adding more offensive power to the roster, Kelsey Mitchell, who was recovering from an ankle injury she suffered in the 3×3 training camp in April is also returning to the team. Along with her, the team will be a great threat to the opponents especially with the deep shots. However, while she is joining the team on the ride and has been a part of the training camp since Friday, it is not a surety that she will play against Connecticut.

For the hosts, all three of its leaders and starters from the previous season are returning in full health. These are DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, and Alyssa Thomas. They have also added Moriah Jefferson to their roster in the hopes of better offense. However, she is still injury-ridden. Unless her right ankle supports her, she might not be given any floor time for the regular season opener. The heat is already high and the anticipation of who makes their first impression the best one is also on the line.
