When Angel Reese’s relationship with the Florida State Seminoles star Cam’Ron Fletcher started in 2023, she got his name tattooed on her. However, not many knew that their relationship would take an ugly turn someday and they would break just after a year. While the breakup part was acceptable to Reese, what did not sit well with her was her announcing the relationship in public because it led to a lot of trouble. A mature Reese now opines that she will never go public with her relationship unless it’s marriage.

“On Thursday’s episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, the ‘Chi-Town Barbie’ shared her take on relationships. “I don’t think I’ll ever get in, like I had a public breakup but like obviously I didn’t get what you received. But I don’t think I would get into another public relationship unless I’m getting married,” Reese stated.

The duo had a strong bond as Reese, during the time of announcing their relationship, had revealed that she had known Fletcher for six years, and that he was really supportive of her. But as Reese climbed the ladder of success, Fletcher was injured during a game against North Carolina, that forced him to end his season on a low note. And it is speculated that over time the distance between them became an issue as the Maryland-born had to travel a lot for her games.

“Like the next… it was just… it’s too much like people knowing when y’all unfollowing each other and don’t follow each other. And they’re in the comments like even for his sake. Like the fallout was bad but like me they post their commenting under his pictures. Like I don’t even like that. Like obviously his name wasn’t as big as mine but like just being able to see them commenting on his pictures of my name. Like just leave it. Like I don’t like that. Like I agree it’s just too much for me,” Reese added.

But before Reese shared her breakup news, there were already rumors in the baling communities that they were on the verge of parting ways, since they had unfollowed each other on Instagram. This troubled her a lot and she had to come on Instagram Live to share the latest news. “Yeah, I’m single,” Reese enumerated before requesting her followers to “attach me to no man.” Concluding the chat, the then Bayou Barbie said “I do what’s best for me, that’s it. I’m the catch! Let’s not get it twisted.” But it only wasn’t the relationship that got her into trouble.

Troubles pile up for Angel Reese due to her fame

Reese got into the public eye for a majority of Americans when she won the NCAA Championship title in 2023. Hence coming into the 2024 season, especially after Kim Mulkey got new recruits, it was expected that the Lady Tigers would once again win the woodenware. However, Reese due to some “locker room” issues had to miss four games. At that time there were rumors ranging from her pregnancy to her being banned from the LSU for low grades. And since none of that was true, she had to bear a lot of hate online. Plus losing the 2024 Championship title wasn’t particularly good for her and hence during the postgame presser, she broke down.

“I’ve been through so much. I’ve seen so much. I’ve been attacked so many times. Death threats… I just try to stand strong for my teammates because I don’t want them to see me down and not be there for them ….. All this has happened since I won the national championship and I haven’t been happy since then,” Reese had revealed.

This was another instance when staying in the public eye had been harmful for her. Therefore, now she wants to weigh her words and actions and make sure she doesn’t become a space goat for fans to express their fury. And perhaps, she is doing just exactly that by keeping aspects of her private.
