It seems like Angel Reese is having a rocking time in Chicago. The Randallstown, Maryland native had a fantastic homecoming game in which the Chicago Sky secured an impressive Commissioner Cup victory over the Washington Mystics. On top of that, the 6 ft 3 in forward currently occupies the second spot in ESPN’s list of WNBA’s top 2024 rookies. Anyhow, she now has another reason to celebrate.

The former LSU standout shared delightful news for her fans through an Instagram story. As it turns out, June 7 happens to be the birthday of her pet dog, Tiago King Reese. On his turning one, the 22-year-old posted a loving message which reads, “My first baby! Finally 1. I love my fur baby so much. Happy Birthday to my Sonnnnnnn.”

She made the announcement just a couple of days earlier courtesy of another Instagram story. Traveling with him in her car, Reese wrote that day, “My baby turns 1 in a few days.”

In addition to this, Reese also posted a video in her subsequent story in which she is singing the Happy Birthday song while Tiago is in her lap. This story is captioned, “Had to sing to him before I left for my game.”

Angel Reese and Tiago have been together since her college basketball days. Moreover, the 22-year-old has ensured a separate Instagram account for this very special family member. The account is filled with posts of them sharing special moments together.

In the meantime, Angel Reese experienced a terrific return in front of a familiar crowd.

Angel Reese pulls off an exhibition on home turf

The visiting Angel Reese experienced a home atmosphere the moment she stepped in front of 10,000 people at the Capital One Arena. Apparently, the Commisioner Cup fixture against the Mystics also marks a special occasion for Reese as she began her basketball journey from one of the suburbs of Washington and that was Maryland. And she didn’t disappoint those in attendance by delivering her third double-double as a rookie. (16 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.)

Prior to the game, Reese reflected on her emotions about her return to the media. She expressed, “I know I’m gonna see so many familiar faces tonight. That’s love to me. Being able to have my mom and my brother courtside at the game. Like, those are dreams come true.”

A productive evening for Reese which ultimately resulted in a victorious one for Chicago. The outcome not only brings confidence in the camps but also does wonders to Reese’s individual numbers. Fans will hope that she keeps building on the current momentum and elevates her game further.
