For fans basketball is religion and the court is their worship place. Hence, it is quite common for them to name their children after their favorite players. However, it came as a surprise when WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes decided to name her son after probably the greatest player the court has ever seen- the legendary Michael Jordan. What did Michael Jordan say?

The WNBA legend recalls telling Michael Jordan about her plan and the latter putting a condition to it.

?In this picture, I remember I was pregnant,?and I asked him if I could name my son after him. And he actually put his hands on my stomach and sad the only way you can name him after you is if he has a good jump shot. And I remember saying to them? I might be saying that right here. Meanwhile, Swoopes? son goes by the name of Jordan Jackson and plies his trade for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the NCAA. He wore the same jersey number as her mother- 22 and must have been delighted to watch his mother?s name engraved in the steel girders as per Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. Swoopes led the Red Raiders to their lone NCAA title.

On the other hand, Swoopes jersey was retired by the Red Raiders following her stunning performance that propelled the Texas Tech Raiders to bag the coveted title. As of 2010, she was also part of basketball records single-game scoring, single-season scoring, and highest championship scoring average. Her accolades are not restricted to the NCAA but also cover the Olympics where she won a gold medal with the USA Women?s team in 1996. Hence, she is rightly known as Lady MJ.

Thus, Swoopes named her son after the greatest living basketball legend, but according to Jackson, it didn?t put much pressure on him. Moreover, the hilarious condition put by Jordan also confirms his approval of the same.
