Caitlin Clark in golf—Is she the next big multi-sport icon to watch out for?

From wearing Zoom Kobe 6 Protro ‘Think Pink’ to Zoom Kobe 6 Protro ‘All-Star,’ Caitlin Clark doesn’t lose the opportunity to show her love for the Nike brand on the basketball court. And now that the WNBA season is over, she has transitioned into golf. But once again, the ‘generational talent’ has displayed her brilliance, and this time again with Nike.

While practicing golf before the LPGA Event in November, Clark was seen wearing a grey sweatshirt with blue pants. However, one thing that caught all attention was that she was sporting the Nike Infinity Tour 2 in pink and orange color. This also looked to be taking her near to being a professional golfer as she was wearing professional golfer Brooks Koepka’s favorite shoes.

The shoes, worn by Koepka, have been designed for stability. They have an air zoom unit below, which helps the athlete maintain posture during the swing. The shoes also have an updated midsole that helps the underfoot and a flywheel breathable fabric that helps keep the foot safe from issues resulting from sweating. It looks like Clark is ready to play for long hours.

The sneakers are priced at a decent $170 for the Air Zoom Infinity model whereas the Infinity model is available at $190. While the shoes are available in 10 regular colors, Clark’s variant hasn’t been found up until now. The shoe, as mentioned before, had a unique orange and pink color and maybe it’s due to her access to Nike with which she extended her 2022 deal recently.

The Iowa alum signed an 8-year, $28 million deal with Nike this year. While she had Adidas and Under Armour in the line, Clark stayed loyal to Nike, who will also release her signature shoes somewhere in the 2026-27 season. Previously in 2022, she had inked an NIL agreement with them, revealing that she “grew up watching Nike athletes across all sports play their game.”

It is no surprise that Clark has decided to take her loyalty even to golf. Meanwhile, she might even get a lot of followers for the brand, if she wears it during the LPGA tour.

Clark will be competing in the Pro-Am golf tournament that is set to roll out from November 11 to 17. She will also appear at The Annika, the penultimate tour in the LPGA, hosted by the legendary Annika Sörenstam. Plus, she will also be a part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, which will take place in Florida. Looks like Clark is ready to venture into varied fields and become an icon for women. As for her golfing initiatives, it isn’t new.

In 2023, Clark took part in the John Deere Classic. For her skills, she was applauded by  Zach Johnson and Ludvig Aberg. Describing her golfing game as “spectacular,” Johnson became an ardent fan of Clark then. The LPGA can expect the Clark fans to tune in, especially since The Annika will be driven by the Gainbridge. Hence, she might get more media coverage as Gainbridge is her home brand.

Hopefully, much like last time, Clark will impress everyone with her skills. And perhaps, she will come to the tournament wearing her Nike shoes, which will make Koepka happy.
