If there is one person that Angel Reese would give credit for her success in basketball, it would be her uncle and the NBA Great—Shaquille O’Neal. And as she faces her NCAA turned WNBA rival—Caitlin Clark—for the last time this season, the Chi-Town Barbie has him sitting on the sidelines, rooting for her. Certainly, their relationship has also turned into a business opportunity as Shaq, Reebok’s President of Basketball, brought in the Sky rookie to his vision for Reebok, and she is using every chance to show the brand off. Just like she did tonight!

Tonight’s game is breaking many headlines. From WNBA’s record-high average ticket price at $334 to the Barbie-themed night, this heated Angel Reese-Clark matchup is all about the front page news. Another one is that the Los Angeles Lakers legend is sitting right in the Wintrust Arena. Adding to it is the fact that the No. 5 forward has broken out the Reebok Engine A. These are the freshest cleats from the brand, specifically designed with performance in mind.

This isn’t the first time the Baltimore native has stepped up to showcase the latest from her favorite footwear brand. Just recently, she launched her own signature collection and the very next day, she was strutting in a silver-chrome Angel Lux Contour Crop Top and matching Bike Shorts, paired perfectly with her Premier Road VI sneakers. But tonight in Chicago, it’s not just about the fashion game—there’s a lot more excitement in the air!

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark taking another step toward history

The two most popular rookies in the league right now had made it clear early on that they were not here just to play but to stay. There are multiple records that the two have already smashed and there are at least seven more games to go for either team. Of course, Caitlin Clark picked up right where she left off in Iowa as she continued to ink her name in the history books. Currently, she is going for the WNBA single-season record for most assists. She is 65 dishes away to grab that one. The first-overall pick is leading the W in the same with 8.1 APG and has already delivered 7 assists to her teammates against the Sky in the first half.

As for Angel Reese, she too is blasting the rebounding and double-double records in the league. In her last game, she became the only WNBA player to have three consecutive games with 20+ rebounds. Now, she is only 17 boards away from putting her name on the WNBA single-season record for most rebounds. Interestingly, the second time Reese had a 20+ rebound back-to-back game, she matched Shaquille O’Neal in the pursuit. Indeed, following his steps in every way possible.

While the Sky started their hosting just fine tonight, they quickly found themselves trailing the Fever. Nevertheless, Angel Reese is up with her game, as she already had 6 rebounds in the first half. Along with that, she had 4 points as well. Going into this game, Indiana had an upper hand over Chicago 2-1. Only time will tell if the hosts can balance out the record or let the Fever take the series.
