The Indiana Fever have one of the best offensive line-ups in 2024 with Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell. The “triple-headed monster”, as Aces coach Becky Hammon described the trio, is only becoming more lethal. Their camaraderie is off the charts. Now imagine what’ll happen if they add another powerhouse talent to the roster in the form of LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson.

That’s a crazy possibility, isn’t it? However, the first hurdle is already down. Indiana fans have already approved of it. For the unversed, here’s a bit of Clark and Johnson’s history. In their college basketball days, the Iowa and LSU alums were arch-rivals. Johnson got the better of Clark and the Hawkeyes in the 2023 NCAA finals to help the Tigers win the championship. However, their rivalry never turned toxic.

In May this year, before Clark made it big in the WNBA, Johnson shared a heartfelt message for the Fever guard. “Caitlin Clark, say what you want, she’s a star. America has gravitated to her and it’s only putting the women up more and more, so I love it,” she said. On July 20, for the 2024 WNBA All-Star game in July, the duo met again and fans absolutely loved it.

Though Flau’jae Johnson was only present as a spectator, a photo of them from that day is again making the rounds on social media. But this time around, Indiana fans are the ones rooting for this partnership in 2025.

However, an Indiana move isn’t what Johnson’s family is shooting for.

Flau’jae Johnson’s mom’s advice plays spoilsport as Indiana fans rally for Caitlin Clark partnership

Flau’jae Johnson is a woman of many talents. Her rapping career (taking after her late rapper dad Camouflage) is as full-fledged as her basketball career. Because Los Angeles provides the opportunities to fulfil all her dreams, her mother, Kia Brooks, wants Johnson to choose the LA Sparks. Though the LSU star agrees with her mom’s view, playing for the Atlanta Dream is also on her radar.

Though the name Indiana never popped up in their conversation on Johnson’s podcast, fans are all for it. They believe that she and Caitlin Clark would be an “unstoppable” duo, routing through their rivals all the way to a championship.

“NO BC IMAGINEEE LIKE THEY WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE COME ON NOWWW”

This year, the Indiana Fever is ranked second-last in defensive rating. After their 110-109 win against the Dallas Wings, Clark even highlighted this weakness that could trouble them in the playoffs. But one fan highlighted how Flau’jae Johnson, known for her persistent defense, could be the versatile catalyst they need.

“Imagine Flau Jae running the floor for easy layups from CC dimes, playing tight D taking opponents to the rack. Lets Go Fever”

Another X user dragged Caitlin Clark’s Rookie of the Year rival, Angel Reese, into the conversation. Flau’jae Johnson was teammates with Reese at LSU before the Chi-Town Barbie revealed on her podcast that they weren’t as close anymore. Some speculate a fall out. And if you’ve watched enough Hollywood movies, you know what two people with a shared enemy can do.

“So this why Angel mad”

While most fans addressed the performance side, one chose to celebrate Clark and Johnson’s friendly and humble personalities. Even after conquering her rookie year in the WNBA, the Iowa native has not turned cocky. And her rival from LSU is one of the most wholesome personalities in the sport.

“These two amazing humans have ZERO hate in their hearts”

Another fan echoed this sentiment, lauding Johnson for her off-court personality and achievements. The 20-year-old has appeared on ‘The Rap Game’ and ‘America’s Got Talent’ and also collaborated with Lil Wayne in one of her multiple music singles.

“Flau’jae is a fuckin’ boss, and frankly I could see her finding even more success off the court than on. One to watch for sure!”

Her potential partnership with Clark could indeed turn out to be one of the best in the WNBA. Who knows, Johnson might even end up getting close to the rookie records that her fellow Guard from Indiana has. Do you see this fan dream turning into a reality?
