Did NBA 2K25 really mess up Caitlin Clark's jump shot, or are fans overreacting?

Though Caitlin Clark’s NCAA days are a thing of the past as the rookie is now in the W with the Indiana Fever, one place where she has yet to make her debut is the NBA video game. The popular game developed by Visual Concepts is still to have Clark in a live game. However, all fans breathed a sigh of relief when the NBA 2K25 announced its upcoming release incorporating Clark and her rival Angel Reese. But alas, that wasn’t meant to last long. As the NBA 2K25 shared rushes of Clark from their latest edition, fans were annoyed to the core.

The latest video release saw Clark nailing her signature three-pointer something that she had used extensively during her college career. But, as per fans, the graphics of the game didn’t do much justice to her signature threes. “FIX HER JUMP SHOT🙏,” one fan commented.

The initial media communications from the game’s official X account had left fans with mixed emotions. When Clark and Reese’s portraits from the game were released, some of their admirers were happy to see them. They expressed that Clark had got the same ponytail and face as in real life.

Plus, a lot of followers also commented that Reese’s eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair were on point given the fact that the Chicago Sky rookie wears eyelash add-ons. But, there were also a few fans who felt that Clark wasn’t done right. Fans stated that Clark’s face scan wasn’t up to the mark. The Fever rookie wasn’t given what she deserved. And when her jump shot rushes were released it just amplified the negative emotions in the air. Let us have a look at what fans have to say now.

Fans slam makers for being disrespectful to Caitlin Clark

“Wow they got CC messed up,” another fan commented. The user was referring to the fact that Clark did not have as sharp graphics as was expected from the makers of the game. Plus, Clark not jumping to her complete capacity is something that did not appeal to the netizens.

Have an interesting take?

“That is not her jumpshot,” one netizen stated. The social media user saw Clark shoot and jump whereas the real jump shot had Clark jumping to a high and then rolling her wrists giving an astounding finish.

“This game wants 100+ dollars 🙄,” another fan mocked the game for its high price. The latest edition is set to release on September 6 and will be priced at $69.99. According to the user, this was a little unfair considering the quality put forth by the makers of America’s highly talked about rookie.

“Caitlin Clark has respectfully never looked that stiff in her life,” one netizen pointed out. The caricature of Clark had a wooden face whereas Clark is known for aggressive expressions and her celebrations on the hardwood.

“Everybody in the comments saying fix her jumpshot like y’all were ever gonna play wit the WNBA teams💀💀💀,” another fan took a jab at other users since the game was named NBA 2K25 and was marketed on the shoulders of the male players. Hence, the user slammed those complaining.

Well, it remains to be seen how Clark’s fans will take the game once it is released. As for now, they don’t seem very impressed with it and would be hoping that their feedback is incorporated.
