Caitlin Clark is continuing to break records on and off the basketball court. After helping the Iowa Hawkeyes beat the West Virginia Mountaineers in the second round of her last March Madness, even she wouldn’t think a $5 Million would be a possibility.

According to TMZ Sports, the Big3 League of Ice Cube is possibly offering Clark $5 Million for 10 games. 8 will be regular season games while 2 could be possible play-off games. This excludes any sponsorship or merchandise deal on the top. But the main part is Clark has already committed to the WNBA draft, so how would she play in the Big3 League?

Caitlin Clark and her unprecedented rise

The Hawkeyes beat the Mountaineers 64-54 and reached their second consecutive Sweet 16 and broke their own viewership record. According to Chantel Jennings,

The Athletic’s Senior women’s basketball writer, “On Saturday, Iowa set a viewership record for a non-Final Four game with 3.23 million viewers taking in Iowa-Holy Cross on ABC. It took exactly 48 hours for the Hawkeyes to break that record as 4.9 million tuned in to ESPN for Iowa-West Virginia in the second-round.” No doubt Clark will carry the same expectations and fanfare to the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark has declared for the WNBA draft and the Indiana Fever isn’t playing around the #1 pick. Expectations are also high that Clark’s WNBA deal will be higher than in previous years. According to

Statista, Erica Wheeler from the Indiana Fever earns $242,000. But the offer won’t be anywhere near the reported 7-figure contract. If she accepts the contract, she will become the first female player for the BIG3. Thanks to her Dad Brent Clark, since her childhood days she has participated in co-ed games. So BIG3 won’t be her first time playing against male players. But will the WNBA allow their star player to compete in another league?

According to previous reports from

TMZ Sports, the DOJ launched the inquiry months ago, examining alleged anticompetitive behavior from the NBA towards BIG3. NBA denied any such involvement. WNBA won’t possibly deny Caitlin Clark to play in the BIG3, since that could possibly place them under scanner from the DOJ. Also, the WNBA already allows other players to play in different leagues during the off-season.

Caitlin Clark is creating and breaking records at her will inside the basketball court. And outside it won’t take her much time to break sponsorship offers. But this offer from BIG3, if accepted, will put her on a different pedestal.
