“I’m on vacation.” That was Indiana rookie Caitlin Clark, breathing a sigh of relief soon after her final game before the Olympics break. And it was a fitting reaction for anyone not on the USA roster for the Paris Olympics. The 1-month WNBA break presents an opportunity to her former Iowa teammate Kate Martin as well, who went through something painful in the Las Vegas Aces’ final game before the break. By the looks of some of the latest social media exploits, her recovery is heading the right way.

The state of Iowa is hosting its 105th edition of the Mississippi Valley Fair. A ton of festivities grace the event that is taking place between July 30th to August 4th. While the annual spectacle provides a joyful experience for the natives, it appears that the Aces rookie is also not missing out on the opportunity to make the most of it.

Not only did Kate Martin decide to attend the fair, but to some of her fans’ delight, made her visit a memorable occasion. Attending a concert of Country star Thomas Rhett, she clicked herself alongside one of her admirers. Her presence at the Kauffman Stadium had a specific purpose as she was chosen to throw out the first pitch before the game’s commencement. Amidst a loud reception and a standing ovation, the 18th overall pick made her way out to the mound. Seeing her in good spirits is a positive for the Aces fans as the season will soon be back underway.

Martin is expected to join the team on August 18 when the Aces host their 2023 WNBA Finals opponents, the New York Liberty. The fans would be glad to see Kate Martin having a pleasant off-court time till then.
