The documentary details Sue Bird giving her strong voice to a variety of issues including racism, equality, sexism, and anti-LGBTQ+ prejudice, to name a few. The documentary also brings attention to the lack of women’s resources in sports, issues in the WNBA, along her time playing in Russia during offseasons.

The film has been directed by the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentarian Sarah Dowland. As one of her smartest pieces of work, Sarah has given viewers a close and unfamiliar look into Bird’s life with Bird’s fiancee Megan Rapinoe as she walks towards retirement after a 20-year career in the WNBA.

This resilient nature led her to win many accolades including 4 WNBA championships (2004, 2010, 2018, 2020), 13-time WNBA All-Star, 5-time All-WNBA First Team member. In addition, she led the United States and won 5 gold medals as a national team player in the Olympic Games.
