Despite having to cut her WNBA rookie season short due to an ACL tear, Cameron Brink has been everywhere. She has also signed a two-year contract with Unrivaled, but she won’t be playing this year. That hasn’t stopped her from training hard alongside her clubmates. And adding to her list of things that keep her busy she’s also started her own podcast, “Straight to Cam,” alongside Sydel Curry-Lee. And in just the first episode, she dropped a fiery story about a past injury—one that still has her seeing red.
It all started when Brink and Curry-Lee were discussing cosmetic surgery. You know, how facelifts used to be something people got at 50, but now, 20-year-olds are doing it? Brink shared how even she struggles with self-image sometimes.
“It does make me really sad because even myself, I look in the mirror sometimes, we all do, and I like to pick myself apart. And it’s really been a journey to be like, I’ve gotten hit in the nose so many times. My nose is crooked” she said.

She even admitted she had thought about getting a nose job. “I’m like, I want a nose job so badly. But then I think about, first of all, when would I do that? What if I got hit in the face again?” That’s when Sydel reassured her, saying that her nose looked fine, a little crooked, sure, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Indiana Fever center Temi Fagbenle (14) goes in for a lay-up against Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink (22) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, during the game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Los Angeles Sparks defeated the Indiana Fever, 88-82.
And then, the 23-year-old straight-up attacked, “It was a French b–ch that got me.” Without missing a beat, Sydel shot back, “F-k that b-ch, bro.” Brink then revealed that the player did it on purpose during Olympic tryouts.
Brink explained how it all went down. They were at the free-throw line in a 3-on-3 scrimmage when the French player boxed her out and then—BAM—straight to the face, knocking her nose hard enough to make her sneakers turn red with blood. “I was f-g livid,” Brink admitted. “I looked at her, I said, ‘I’m going to get you back.’”
She was all set to have her revenge at the Paris Olympics, having made the 3-on-3 team. But then, things took a devastating turn.
Back in June, Brink was playing against the Connecticut Sun when she slipped on the court, tearing her left ACL. Just like that, her WNBA season was over before it really even started. She had to be helped off the court, and later the team announced her season-ending injury.
The injury didn’t just mean the end of her rookie year—it also crushed her Olympic dreams. Instead of suiting up for Team USA in Paris, she was sidelined. Then, she also had to sit out Unrivaled’s first season. But don’t think for a second that she’s given up on revenge. Nope. She’s just playing the long game.
“But I remember just being named to the team, and I’m like, I’m going to play against her, and I’m going to fcking rock her sh-t,” the LA Sparks star shared on her podcast. “And then I just have to wait four more years.”
So yes, mark your calendars for 2028, because Brink is coming for payback at the next Olympics to be held in Los Angeles. For now, though, she is recovering as she prepares for a comeback soon.
Cameron Brink’s rehab is on track
While she’s recovering from her injury, Cameron Brink hasn’t been laying low. If anything, she’s been busier than ever. She graduated from Stanford, got engaged to her long-term boyfriend, made appearances at the NBA Paris Games with A’ja Wilson, and kept training like a beast.
Even though she’s not playing in Unrivaled, she’s still showing up for her teammates. On January 12, she posted a rehab update on Instagram, showing herself working out with renowned trainer DJ Sackmann.
The 6’4” star was seen going through drills, including free throws. Sackmann hyped her up in the caption, writing, “Still looking for ways to improve through rehab. Keep going. The get back will be [fire emoji].” Brink responded with a simple, “Thankful for you.”
Even though she can’t compete just yet, she’s still having her fun moments on the court.

During a recent Unrivaled practice, Brink and Skylar Diggins-Smith shared a fun highlight when the 2024 Draftee nailed a half-court shot right at the center of the Unrivaled logo. She celebrated, busting out a little dance before jumping onto Diggins-Smith in excitement.
