The Texas-born has played all around the world including the Russian women?s basketball league and the Chinese Basketball league. Overall, Griner averages a whopping 17.7 points with 7.5 rebounds per contest and 1.9 assists per game. In addition to these, the 33-year-old has 2.7 blocks per match and a field goal percentage of 56%. But is Griner the tallest player in the WNBA?

The tallest player in the WNBA was former Los Angeles Sparks star Margo Dydek who was the first overall pick in the 1998 draft by the Utah Starzz. Dydek had a towering height of 7? 2? and is the only WNBA player to have crossed the 7? mark.
While her height contributed to her winning, Dydek became the leader in season blocks per game eight times. She is also the all-time leader in blocks (877) and had the most defensive rebounds (214) in 2001.

The next in line in the list of tallest WNBA players are Bernadett Hatar and Han Xu. Both Hatar and Xu stand 6? 10? tall. Hatar is a Hungarian player who plies her trade for the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA. Though the 29-year-old has immense potential, Hatar has grappled with injuries during her entire WNBA career. She plays as a center and has a field goal percentage of 44.4%. The P?szt?-born averages a meager 3.5 points per game with 2.1 rebounds per contest in the WNBA. Hatar shares the second sport of the tallest player in the WNBA history with Han Xu.

Han, a professional Chinese player, was drafted in the WNBA during the 2019 season by the New York Liberty. She made another record by being the youngest player in her draft. Though she might not be a core player in the WNBA, Han was named the Most Valuable Player for the 2021 and 2022 seasons of the WCBA.
Griner on the other hand is the fourth tallest player in the history of the WNBA behind Margo Dydek, Bernadett Hatar, and Han Xu.
