For the 2023 WNBA Finals MVP A’ja Wilson, 2024 has presented a challenging set of 12 months. Not only are the Las Vegas Aces fans relying on her services to fulfill the quest for a three-peat, but the nation also expects her to lead Team USAB Women’s National Team to an 8th consecutive gold at the Olympics. While the preparations are in full swing for her upcoming on-court Paris adventures, there are still some “must-have” things she needs to take care of off the court before the onset.
The Paris-bound USA women’s basketball team is all set to face Germany’s first-time Olympians on July 23. But before that, the Aces’ kingpin made some fascinating revelations regarding her overseas luggage. When recently asked about the must-haves before her Olympics advent by a reporter, Wilson responded, “I got to have my lip balm, lip gloss, all of that. Just really my skincare bag. That’s something that I really need when I go overseas.”
The skin care bag that Wilson is referring to has a variety of brands that she endorses. Earlier, she opened up about the products that help provide her glowing and vibrant skin, which comprised a Tatcha‘s Rice Wash and a Thayer rose water spray. In addition to this, she also uses Aquaphor to apply some finishing touches. At the same time, her collaboration with Mielle Organics ensures that her hair remains her crown.

Apart from skincare, food is another important component in A’ja Wilson’s travels. Elaborating on it, she further added, “I got some snacks with me. Starburst has these plant-based gummies. I got those. I have popcorn, I got a lot of different stuff. All the fruit snacks that you can think of, I probably have it.”
As it turns out, Starbursts is not the only heavyweight food brand that A’ja Wilson can associate herself with. In 2022, she became the first-ever female athlete to be approached by Ruffles. Consequently, this gave birth to her own signature flavor, Smoky BBQ. Moreover, Wilson was also a proud member of Mountain Dew Ice’s team. This was when she set foot inside the WNBA back in 2018. In the meantime, Wilson shared another interesting development before her Olympics campaign tips off.

Those who have followed the Aces this season might have noticed that Wilson has taken up some more defensive responsibilities as well. Building on to that, that would be the approach of the 2× WNBA Defensive Player of the Year while aiming for the gold in Paris. After their loss to Team WNBA in the All-Star game, she reflected on this chain of thought.
A’ja Wilson said, “Our mindset is different when the Olympics are going on. So yes, I feel like the defense has to be there because the parties, all the extra stuff, it’s not there because we have to focus on the game. When it’s not an Olympic year, I don’t want to play defense.”
There is no denying that Wilson will be carrying a lot of hope. Not only is she expected to be an efficient scorer, but her experience also puts some leadership duties on her shoulders. Subsequently, fans will be hoping that she makes the best out of those circumstances.
