Tai Fauci, co-owner of Bullpen Sports which deals in collectibles had never seen such growth in sales from a WNBA player. “(No women’s professional basketball player) has ever had a collectibles market like this prior to professional play or at this stage of their careers.” Even on eBay from the period January to April, Caitlin Clark was searched 11,000 times daily.

From 2022 to 2023, the number of “Caitlin Clark card” items sold skyrocketed by 3000% as per eBay. The site was offering 5400 items which included cards, jerseys, and basketball in April. The autographed cards were listed as more than $10,000 and the highest card was sold for double that price at $20,000. That was a special card that featured her bearing the 3,528-point mark. But that wasn’t the highest sold yet.

The Caitlin Clark 1/1 Superfractor auto card was sold for $78,000 in January on the PWCC marketplace. Thus, she currently slots behind Serena Willams who has the record at $266,400. Zachary Brietenback, manager of 7th Inning Sports Cards & Collectibles called the Caitlin Clark effect a Tsunami. He said, “Her card is by far the hottest WNBA card that has ever been made, people (have) made waves, but nothing like this. This wasn’t a wave. It is like a tsunami.

After her first preseason WNBA game, her first professional card from Panini was sold at $10,000. Even the WNBA legend Rebecca Lobo called her Tsunami after her latest performance. Be it on the hardwood or off of it, Caitlin Clark is leaving her impact.
