After a few stints here and there Elizabeth Cambage has finally become a part of the WCBA. Recently, the ex-Sparks player has been on the headlines for many reasons but a rather sad one came this Monday when she put a story on Instagram. The 6′ 9″ center mourned a fellow Australian entrepreneur’s tragic loss with five words.

“An icon gone too soon”, wrote Cambage as she shared a RIP post on her Instagram story. Australian DJ Courtney Mills was on holiday in Bali when a tragic accident led to her early demise. The 37-year-old fell from a balcony on Friday and was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. Her Instagram currently has 151 thousand followers and she is being mourned bythe  masses including Cambage.

Interestingly, apart from belonging to the same continent, Cambage shared a similar career choice with Mills. Both were active in the adult platform Onlyfans along with their main successful careers in sports and music. “It’s wild thinking that in a week I’ve already made more than I did playing for years in the league,” Cambage admitted. Her adult content career has been far more lucrative than her WNBA stints according to Cambage.

She has made an estimate of around $1.5 million annually on the platform which is way greater than WNBA’s salary ceiling of $241,984 for 2024.

Even her three-month contract with the Chinese team outweighs her WNBA cheques by a huge margin. The Sichuan Yuanda signed her for $1 million back in 2023. Even during her turbulent career, Cambage has performed steadily and her resilience can be appreciated despite all the controversies.

With the rise of Caitlin Clark and its effect on the WNBA’s popularity, we can hope for female athletes to earn as much as their male counterparts soon. For now, we witness the basketball talent of Cambage as she continues her career outside the States.
