Marking Barbie’s 65th anniversary, the Chicago Sky is set to host WNBA’s first Barbie Night during a game against the Indiana Fever a few hours from now on Friday. The night will have special gifts for Barbie fans who are flocking to the Wintrust Arena after buying tickets on resale for as high as $50, 345. And why shouldn’t they? The night apart for being special for Barbie fans will feature one of the most anticipated clashes between Angel Reese and her rival, Caitlin Clark.
Going up against the Chi-Town Barbie on her franchise’s home court would not be an easy task for the Indiana Fever. Not only that, but Clark is fixed in a double-whammy situation as Reese is set to break another record.
What is the record, and can Reese break it?

Reese is on her way to play on W’s first Barbie Night, she has come closer to another record that was previously held by ex-Chicago Star, Sylvia Fowles. Reese has 388 rebounds in total this season and stands in fifth place among the active players with the highest rebounds in a single season.
Fowles has an exemplary 404 rebounds in total which she hit during the 2018 season with the Minnesota Lynx. Hence, if Reese paces herself up and hits 17 rebounds in this game – a feat that Reese is not new to – she will become the leading rebound scorer in a W season. And this might hurt Clark.
Angel Reese is 17 rebounds away from becoming the WNBA player with the most rebounds in a single season.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Angel Reese the new face of the WNBA, leaving Caitlin Clark in the dust?
Have an interesting take?
Not only this but if Reese gets going throughout the season like she has been doing, the Chi-Town Barbie might reach 500 rebounds, a milestone that hasn’t ever been done in the W’s history. Including this game, she has 10 remaining in the regular season and even if she scores 15 rebounds per game during this period of time, she will cross 500 rebounds in a regular season. But, is this the only thing that Caitlin Clark should be worried about?
The record of Angel Reese indicates that she could give a tough time to Indiana Fever
When Reese stepped onto the hardwood in May for her debut regular season game against the Dallas Wings, she didn’t shy away from expressing herself. The 22-year-old hit 12 points and 8 rebounds missing her double-double by just 2 rebounds. Since then, Reese has time and again demonstrated her rebounding ability.
So much so that she broke Candace Parker’s record of most consecutive double-doubles in July. Next, when she came back after the Olympics break, Reese collected 20 or more rebounds in three consecutive games. For this reason, she was also hailed as the double-double Barbie.
So far, the Chicago Sky has gone up against Indiana Fever three times, where the Fever has won two times. This time Reese and Co. would try their best to outdo the Fever in an attempt to draw the win-loss record against their arch-rival. Interestingly, the matchup between the two teams has always been a close call. However, one important thing to note here is that Reese has put up stellar performances with 16, 13, and 13 rebounds against Indiana Fever.

Thus, while Reese has got the chance to set the stage alight on the WNBA Barbie Night by reaching another milestone, it looks to be a double whammy for Clark. Clark, firstly, will be playing an away game in Reese’s home court with a large crowd against her, and secondly, if Reese sets the record it will add another chapter in their legendary rivalry.
