In May 2023, the New York Liberty’s power forward and 2 x WNBA Champion Breanna Stewart, along with her wife and former WNBA star and Euroleague Champion Marta Xargay, announced that the couple is expecting their second child due in October.

Stewart is vibing, both on-court and off-court. The New York Liberty winning Game 3 is another addition to Stewart’s list of celebrations. Also, she attended the post-game interview and was accompanied by a little guest.

The New York Liberty is set to enter Game 4 with the same enthusiasm as Game 3. Attending the post-game interview was the Liberty’s coach Sandy Brondello, accompanied by 2021 WNBA MVP Jonquel Jones aka JJ.

After they answered a few questions, Breanna Stewart joined the meeting, bringing along her 2-year-old daughter Ruby. Stewart apologized to everyone for her late arrival, “Sorry we are late,”?to which coach Brondello cheerfully replied, “You can be sorry, that’s okay.”

As the post-game interview proceeded, Ruby sat patiently on Stewie’s lap. However, moments later she started playing. And, just when the reporters asked questions via Zoom,?little Ruby walked down the podium.

Ruby’s arrival in Stewart’s life was a significant one, as she had just won the WNBA Championship, a Finals MVP award, a Euroleague title, and an Olympic gold prior to Ruby’s birth.

When Stewart and Xargay welcomed their first daughter

On August 9, 2021, Marta and Breanna welcomed their first daughter and became moms via surrogate. At that time, Stewart used to play for the Seattle Storm. Moreover, she represented Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics and won a gold medal. Interestingly, Ruby was born 48 hours after Stewart won that gold medal.

Evidently, Breanna got her eggs frozen in 2018, while she was recovering from an injury. After winning a WNBA championship, Stewart kept her family’s expansion hushed. In May 2021, Stewart invited Marta to go hiking just to get down on one knee with a surprise proposal.

“I was complaining because she wanted to go hiking. You know Phoenix is super hot so I was just like, ‘I don’t want to be outside.’ She planned the whole day, telling me let’s go for a walk, do something, take pictures. I was like, ‘Okay, let’s do it,” says Marta as reported by the People magazine.

Two months after the proposal, the couple got married in July 2021 on Stewart’s apartment building’s rooftop. Now, with their second child coming, the couple is looking forward to making new memories and having new adventures.
