Just like she is a fierce competitor on the court, A’ja Wilson has an equally witty and fun-loving personality off the court. Whenever she can, she always tries to bring a smile to people’s faces with her silly pranks and jokes. A while back, she did make one such joke, a heart-touching gesture though, that has managed to drop some jaws on its way.
Four years ago, A’ja Wilson shared a post on X with the caption, “My daughter” with a heart emoji, referring to a women’s basketball prospect for the Florida State Seminoles. So, just to be clear, NO, A’ja Wilson doesn’t have a daughter and perhaps, she wrote that in the spirit of resemblance that athlete’s playing style had with hers. However, let’s not beat around the bush and explore A’ja Wilson’s real family.

She once described her relationship with her father as “the best, ever.” But besides being A’ja Wilson’s father, Roscoe Wilson Jr. is the CEO of the R.C. Wilson Group Governmental/Community Consultant at W, Haywood Burns Institute, SCASA. He is working with a mission to help children and families.
In his early days, Roscoe used to play college basketball for Benedict College. At the time, he was considered a big dominating athlete for the Tigers basketball team, the best-known centers throughout the SIAC and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
His 22.5 rebounds per game ranked in the top 10 nationwide as a sophomore. In one game, he took those digits to 35 rebounds. Also, he was named to the All-SIAC, and All-NAIA teams, and was a Small College All-American post sophomore.
He then graduated with a degree in Physical Ed. and Biology and became the program’s first player to play basketball professionally in Europe. For a decade, Roscoe played for more than 7 teams across seven countries there. But before that, he did have a short stint with the NBA’s New York Nets, as per Benedict College Athletes.
In New York, Roscoe played with and against some of the biggest names in basketball, from Nate “Tiny” Archibald to Kevin Joyce. After his retirement, he became a basketball coach both men’s and women’s at Morris College. Besides, he was also a softball coach, track and field coach, and athletic director. Later on, he went back to his alma mater where he coached the men’s basketball team.

Before this, Eva was a court stenographer. She has been working at the Richland County School District 1 in Columbia, South Carolina for the last 17 years. Now, let’s talk about A’ja Wilson’s elder brother.
Meet Renaldo Wilson
A’ja Wilson’s older brother Renaldo is popular for his on-air personality. Before becoming a DJ Mixer with Alpha Media USA in 2015, Renaldo was a retail sales associate at Foot Locker. What reflects his professional versatility is that he is also a park supervisor in the City of Columbia besides a licensed insurance agent with Liberty National Life Insurance Company.
Before stepping into the professional world, Renaldo played high school and college basketball at his father’s alma mater, i.e. Benedict College. But his skills weren’t limited to the mono-sport level as he also played football, basketball, and track and field in high school.
What makes him more desirable is his humility. Despite having a people-oriented profession, Renaldo shies away from the media and likes to have his private space for himself.
