DiJonai Carrington was a ‘villainous’ figure of the playoffs last year. Then Sun’s guard unknowingly poked Caitlin Clark’s eye, which led to negative comments from fans. But the Baylor alum did not pay heed to any such drama and continued to put her best foot forward. Even during the Unrivaled, the 27-year-old achieved on-court success in the recent game against Angel Reese and Co. But why did it lead her to talk about the “dirty work” she had to do?
During the post-game conference, a reporter praised the Mist BC star for her “tenacity” against the Rose BC. DiJonai Carrington replied, “You know, I really just think that’s always been my role on teams is to bring a spark. Change the momentum of the game and do the dirty things, the dirty work.” She ended the game with a season-high 18 points to snap the five-game winning streak of the Rose basketball club. However, the team had another strategy, which they successfully executed.
“But I think for us today, it was also trying to get downhill and just put pressure on them at the rim and make them have to run with us. And so I think that was really what I tried to come in there and do is just change the pace.” The Mist players played a much more physical game where they tired the opposition of Angel Reese, Lexie Hull, Ariel Atkins, Brittney Sykes, and Chelsea Gray.

In the last game, the Roses were able to beat the Lunar Owls and snap their 8-0 unbeaten streak. However, in this game, the team looked completely different, and even the fans couldn’t recognize them. After being the first player in Unrivaled to record more than 20 points and 20 rebounds, Angel Reese failed to hit the double-digit mark for points.
So, friends off the court, Chi-town Barbie and DiJonai Carrington had completely opposite outcomes on the court. But previously, they took a stance during the last season of the WNBA.

Angel Reese found support as hatred from Caitlin Clark fans continued
As stated previously, when the Suns faced the Fever, an unintentional move from Carrington led her to receive a lot of hate. So much so that her partner, Indiana Fever forward NaLyssa Smith, called out the misdeeds on social media. “anyways, now that I can respond freely, my girlfriend has been getting death threats, followed, called all type of sh–.”
The Sky forward too shared her similar experience while facing such trolls on social media. Angel Reese and CC’s rivalry has been since their collegiate days. It reached new heights when the LSU alum and the Iowa superstar engaged in taunting on the court. “Y’all know I’ve been going through this for the last 2 years but was told ‘save the tears’ & ‘stop playing the victim. Y’all a little late to the party and could have tried to put out this fire way before it started.” Even Caitlin Clark rightfully condemned such actions, which put the WNBA stars’ health in jeopardy.
