Fashion and basketball: Are Reese and Brink the new power duo in sports and style?

It feels like yesterday when Angel Reese and Cameron Brink were dancing together and flaunting their outfits after WNBA Draft Night. Now, they’re soaking up every moment of their first offseason in the WNBA. But their connection goes beyond fashion and fun. It’s their close friendship that keeps them finding time for each other despite the physical distance.

On November 24th, “Chi-Town Barbie” took to her official Instagram account to share a photo dump. Reese dropped 13 photos, showcasing how the Chicago Sky forward balances her demanding schedule with moments of joy. If you’re captivated by her pictures, you’re not alone—Brink, despite being 281 miles away in Los Angeles, where she attended the USC game, couldn’t resist diving into the comment section.

She do it all,” Brink wrote, adding a red heart emoji to her comment. And she’s not wrong! Reese has been preparing for the Unrivaled set to kick off in January, has kept up with her podcast, Unapologetically Angel, has been a keynote speaker at ComplexCon, attended fashion shows (Victoria Secrets) and award ceremonies (CDFA Fashion Awards), and has been savoring her personal life.

The post spoke of it all. It included shots of her hitting the gym, taking the private jets, being at a conference, and then of the festive season setting in, with Reese herself in a red SKIMS fit. At just 22 years old, the Maryland native has had a whirlwind year—and it’s far from over.

The WNBA star is set to close out her debut season in style, receiving the Style Influence of the Year award at the 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards next month. It’s well-deserved—Reese’s stunning fits make her a standout both on and off the court. But did you know that fashion is another passion that connects Reese and Brink?

Last year, after Reese won the NCAA Championship title, she posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, shot by Yu Tsai in Los Angeles. “Bold styling was inspired by the art-deco-style house that served as the setting for the shoot,” SI shared in a statement.

But, Reese’s stunning purple bikini wasn’t the only standout outfit—she also rocked multi-colored bikinis, a two-tone bodycon, and a fiery red ensemble.

Nearly a year later, Brink, now a star for the LA Sparks, is preparing for her own SI photoshoot. She’ll be striking poses on Boca Raton’s breathtaking beaches for Ben Horton’s passion project. Although the photos won’t be published until 2025, Brink expressed her excitement during a podcast appearance, saying, “I’ve always loved SI Swimsuit. I think it’s super empowering.”

This isn’t Brink’s first foray into fashion, either. She made waves with her alluring fits and attitude at Fashion Week with Balenciaga. Through basketball and fashion, Reese and Brink have built a bond that’s uniquely theirs.
