“She is a trouble.” Tonight’s callers for the Indiana Fever vs Phoenix Mercury game know exactly what they are in for. Forty minutes of pure adrenaline as the two better three-point shooting teams go against each other. However, it was Caitlin Clark’s threes that the fans missed the most. But with a long break, she has returned to herself. And despite Indiana’s rocky performance in the second and third quarters, the rookie made her ROTY case stronger.

In her very first game after the break vs the Mercury, Caitlin Clark managed 13 points in 8 minutes of the first quarter. She then led the game at half-time with 16 points. With the ball falling into the basket, she also collected a mark that not many had landed on before. With tonight’s performance, Caitlin Clark becomes the first rookie in WNBA history to record 450+ PTS & 200+ AST! Additionally, she is just the sixth player in the league to reach this feat as well.

Caitlin Clark has been exactly what everyone expected of her for Indiana. She creates points! Whether on her own or by dishing out gasp-worthy assists, she brings points to the scoreboard for the Fever. Although she has time and again mentioned how the team’s win means everything to her, she somehow ends up with personal records as well.

In fact, the first overall pick is also on pace to grab herself another huge record soon. Going into the game vs Phoenix, Caitlin Clark was trailing Ticha Penicheiro by 12 assists. In tonight’s game, she dished out 10 assists, leaving only 2 to tie the record set in 1998. Surely, the fans are happy about the win and so is one star from the NBA in the crowd tonight.

For the first time in franchise history, Indiana got the better of the Mercury in three games. With this, they have also won the entire series of the season. However, it was nothing when compared to how Caitlin Clark led the team on her shoulders. Tonight, the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer came out of the gates with a bang. She delivered 4 of 11 deep shots, impressing the Olympian from the Indiana Pacers– Tyrese Haliburton.

Continuing to show up for Pacers’ counterpart, Haliburton was clearly blown away by the masterclass that the rookie put up in the home arena. He tweeted, “Hope y’all seeing what 22 doin at Gainbridge.” Certainly, it was a game worth watching that despite Phoenix’s comeback in the second and third quarters, could not crumble down the Fever.

Caitlin Clark ended her night with 29 points and 10 assists. She recorded her tenth double-double and will now be chasing Courtney Vandersloot’s WNBA record for most double-doubles by a guard– 11. Until then, it is a huge night for the Indiana Fever to mark their powerful return to the season.
