Tuesday night’s action-packed overtime matchup at the Barclays Center featured a clutch performance from Breanna Stewart, who helped the No. 2 seed New York Liberty defeat the No. 7 seed Washington Mystics by a score of 90-85. The Liberty’s thrilling victory guarantees them a spot in the 2023 WNBA semifinals, and Stewart’s excellent play served as the catalyst for their victory.

Breanna Stewart put up an impressive performance when it counted. She helped with two assists and 10 rebounds and contributed 27 points. Stewart really came into her own in overtime, leading the Liberty to victory and knocking Natasha Cloud and the Washington Mystics from the postseason in the process.

Although Stewart was without a doubt the evening’s star, she couldn’t have done it without her teammates. Despite not having her best night, Sabrina Ionescu was essential to the Liberty’s success. With her 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists, she nearly had a double-double. Jonquel Jones also put on a strong showing with 19 points, 14 rebounds and one assist.

On the other hand, Natasha Cloud stole the spotlight for the Mystics.

Natasha Cloud carried an immense load as the star player for the Washington Mystics. In addition to being in charge of her team’s offense, she also had the difficult task of defending Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty. Cloud put up a fantastic performance in a game that went into OT, scoring 33 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out nine assists.

Her performance even garnered praise and recognition from the LA Lakers legend, LeBron James. He wrote on Twitter, “Tasha going crazy right now!!!!” referring to Natasha Cloud.

It was truly a valiant effort from Cloud. Unfortunately, the Mystics’ season ended in a tragic manner with a 90-85 loss to the Liberty despite the WNBA champion’s best efforts.
