Aces vs Everybody. That was the motto of the 2x World Champions before the kick-start of the 2024 WNBA season. And this appears to be true now that they have lost 3 games on the trot in the Commissioner’s Cup. Nonetheless, the WNBA Finals MVP A’ja Wilson still believes that the team possesses the required skills to turn things around pretty quickly.
Dark clouds are currently circling around Becky Hammon’s crew as a series of undesirable results gets her and the rest of the squad in the firing lines. But, A’ja Wilson had nothing but trust to shower on her teammates. She said, via the postgame press conference, “I’m just going to continue to get my 24 hours. This is a long, long a** season. So, like I said, I’m not gonna press the panic button. I’m gonna make sure my teammates don’t press the panic button. I’m still gonna bet on us.”
Giving a spine to her statements, the “best leader in the world,” according to Kate Martin added, “I’m still going to always ride for my teammates. I know what’s exactly in that locker room. The things that we’ve done. I’ve seen the things that we’ve done. I’ve seen the work we put in. So, for me to let things like this sting, it’s not going to work. It’s not going to change anything, probably gonna make it worse.”

The reigning WNBA Defensive Player of the Year who recently got into the Team USA for the Paris Olympics clearly does not want to give up on the team. The same were the thoughts of Kelsey Plum. The 5-ft-8 point guard also agreed with the No. 22 on how things may not be looking great for them but with a little adjustment, things will get back on the line. But, here is what A’ja Wilson thinks about winning the games.
A’ja Wilson shows another glimpse of great leadership
No one would argue the fact that A’ja Wilson is having an MVP-like season already. After breaking Diana Taurasi‘s record for over 13 games with 25+ points, she is continuing to shine for Las Vegas. But another thing about her that dazzles many is her impeccable leadership. Giving another example of how letting a few losses get to her is not the best thing for the team.

In the postgame press conference, she also said, “So, I’m always going to get myself 24 hours, just to kind of figure it out. But after that, we move on. It’s never going to get easier. It’s never been easy for us. For me to be here, losing my mind, pulling my hair out over something that hasn’t been easy.”

Sending a message through, she also mentioned on the record that while we may make it look easy through our records so far, it is not the case. A’ja Wilson also iterated how they’ve always had such moments. The only difference is that it is at the beginning of the season this time. While we know that they will bounce back, the question is when.
