It was not at all a disappointment when Reese marched onto the floor, end to end in today’s game against the New York Liberty. The Chicago Sky rookie was a firebolt on the court. Throughout the game, the Sky maintained a double-digit lead over the Liberty, giving them a major reality check.

Reese moved past her opponents with a dominant offense and shoved the ball in the bucket. In only 19 minutes she scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist. Moreover, she kept her field goals to 60% scoring and free throws with 100% accuracy.

Besides being a fierce player, Angel Reese also checks out as a supportive teammate as she danced it off on the sidelines when her teammate Dana Evans made a shot. It is a true reflection of how well Reese is blending in with her new team making their on-court chemistry an impeccable symphony. In the game, Evans scored 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.

However, this might be a huge reality check for the Liberty, as it was a game-set match for the Sky.

The New York Liberty getting steamrolled by the rookies

The Sky showcased a dominant effect on both ends of the court, and the Liberty couldn’t make a comeback throughout the game. Their attempt to gain the lead were not that strong as they trailed in double digits in all four quarters.

Today, it also seemed like they were not fighting enough. One other derivation from their display also says that they might be testing the waters with the Sky as it was a preseason game. However, it does count as a major setback when last year’s WNBA finals runner-up team’s star players were limited to scoring below 10.

Simply put, Sabrina Ionescu scored 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Breanna Stewart added 5 points, 4 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. Jonquel Jones and Betnijah Laney both contributed 4 points to that.

Although it was a preseason game, Reese made a strong impact, which might work as a morale booster for the Sky when they kick off their season.
