After Kevin Durant surpassed Lisa Leslie as the all-time Team USA Olympics scorer, he along with LeBron James and the entire squad clicked a picture on the steps to mark the legendary moment. In a funny twist of things, Breanna Stewart & Co. copied the men’s team and posed at the same location as them, clicking a picture while chatting. This attracted a lot of attention to the viral photo and fans commented their point of view on the same.

“Copying the men’s pic lol,” one fan commented. The picture by Durant was taken after Team USA’s blowout victory of 122-87 over Brazil. Durant scored 11 points and glided his total to 494 Olympic points which was enough to trump Leslie’s record, who had notably scored 488 points during her four Olympic appearances. He had also written a personalized message for Leslie enumerating that “Records are meant to be broken.”

Furthermore, Durant had also made clear his ambition to win gold for his country and applauded Leslie for “the gold standard in basketball.” Meanwhile, Stewart and her teammates were seen comfortably chatting with each other. The picture looked to be candid and Stewart captioned the snap, “Bet you can’t guess what we were talking about 🤣.”

While Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, and Jackie Young could be seen sharing a funny moment, Stewart was busy with Jewell Loyd as Alyssa Thomas sat next to them. Similarly, Sabrina Ionescu was sitting right at the top with Kahleah Copper. Thus, the entire Team USA was engulfed in a light-hearted atmosphere. And why shouldn’t they be? They defeated Nigeria in the quarterfinals on Wednesday by an 88-74 margin making their way to the semi-finals against Australia. And fans had varied reactions to them.

Fans have mixed reactions to Breanna Stewart & Co.

“I don’t see the aura here , cute picture but our men cooked,” one user stated. Notably, men’s basketball has got more attention than women’s basketball. Durant recently surpassed Lisa Leslie as the all-time leading Olympic scorer. Plus, even in the history of the Olympics, there have been more popular storylines related to the men’s team like the Dream Team and the Redeem team.

“Love your Outfit Ladies,” one netizen liked the outfits of the women’s team. Most of them were either in a sweatshirt or a hip t-shirt which appealed to the fan. The picture was thus a combination of greys, light blues, dark blues, and whites.

“How yall copied the men’s photo,” one fan also pointed fingers at the women’s team for copying the men’s picture. The fan might be hinting at the fact that the women’s team needs to have their own ideas since they are as relevant as the men’s squad and are representing the USA.

“Talking about blowouts! And where to put the gold medal in the house,” another fan commented. The user was pointing to the fact that the women’s team is going for their eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal and hence, they are a stellar team while answering Stewart’s question.

“Caitlin Clark obviously,” one fan commented that the squad was talking about Caitlin Clark. CC has been a point of discussion for the media outlets despite not being with the team. While some reporters state that Clark would have brought more popularity to the Olympics, others enumerated that the main motive of the basketball team is to win their eighth consecutive gold and not be worried about TV viewership. Thus, the fan stated that the roster might be talking about Clark.
