Caitlin Clark is gearing up to hit the golf course during her off-season as the LPGA’s The Annika Invitational kicks off this Wednesday. But before diving into that, the star player has been taking it easy, spending her time the way she has since the WNBA season wrapped up: cheering on her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, and his basketball team. This time around, Caitlin decided to mix things up by sharing the stands with one of her NBA friends.
Tuesday night, the Butler Bulldogs, assisted coached by Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, took on Western Michigan in their third game of the season. As expected, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was right there at Hinkle Fieldhouse, supporting McCaffery and his team. But this time, a clip surfaced on X showing Caitlin sitting courtside not just with Butler fans, but also next to Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, making for an exciting moment in the stands, while McCaffrey’s family — whom she was spotted with previously – wasn’t sighted.
A tweet from the night captured the buzz: “Butler basketball games have become a celebrity event. Caitlin Clark and Pacers Guard Tyrese Haliburton in the building tonight.” Clark, clearly enjoying the moment, was seen chatting and laughing with Haliburton, who was there with his girlfriend, Jade Jones, making it a memorable outing beyond her usual routine.

Earlier in Butler’s season opener against Missouri State, Clark was spotted sitting with one of McCaffery’s younger brother, Jack McCaffery and his mother, Margaret. However, this time, with Tyrese Haliburton by her side, it seemed she decided to enjoy some quality time with him and his girlfriend while her boyfriend’s family was notably absent from the screen. And Clark’s fun conversation caught on screen is a but obvious event given they have been good friends often expressing their support.
Tyrese Haliburton’s close friendship with Caitlin Clark and Connor McCaffery
Tyrese Haliburton shares a close connection with Caitlin Clark and her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. During the WNBA season, Haliburton and his girlfriend, Jade Jones, have been regulars courtside at Indiana Fever home games cheering for Clark. Haliburton was often seen sitting near McCaffery, who now serves as an assistant coach at Butler and previously worked with the Indiana Pacers.

“I’ve grown to be pretty close with Caitlin and (Connor). Me, her, him and my girlfriend, Jade, all have a group chat that we talk in pretty often about everything. So it’s been cool to just grow my friendship with her,” the Indiana Pacers guard told IndyStar earlier. Haliburton has also been an admirer of the reigning ROTY as he said, “To see kind of the explosion of women’s basketball and for a big piece of that being the Fever, and that being right in my backyard, I think was really cool to see.”

The bond between Caitlin Clark and Tyrese Haliburton is clearly mutual. On the same day as the Butler Bulldogs’ Tuesday matchup, Clark helped serve food at Haliburton’s Come to Our House Season of Giving Dinner. This gesture was a testament to the close friendship they share.
With the WNBA season on break, Haliburton can no longer cheer for Clark from the stands. However, as the NCAA tournament is in action, it’s possible for Clark and the NBA star to team and root for McCaffery’s Bulldog. And that’s what they have been doing. But one intriguing question remains: will Haliburton’s friendship with Clark extend to the golf course on Wednesday at The Annika? The answer might depend on his schedule with the Pacers.
